I rented this movie and thought it was really funny and good. I thought there was very little sex in it however even in unrated version. Nice marketing gimmick but not much action. It is very suggestive.
Not trying to hijack this thread, but I watched the unrated version tonight and kept noticing a dull popping sound coming from my sub and left surround at different spots of the movie. I tried several times to repeat the noise but it was happening randomly. Anyone else have this happen?
It happened on Master and Commander for me. I think it's a matter of having your system louder than your speakers can handle. Get bigger ones or turn down the volume.
What, are you all children? The fact that Elisha Cuthbert doesn't appear nude in this movie is reason not to buy it? Idiocy...
It's a good movie, and I had a lot of fun watching it. I don't care who's nude or not... I guess some people have other reasons for watching movies than the rest of us
I just watched The Girl Next Door last night and I must say that the advertising campaign was off target. I got the impression it was some sort of raunchy teen comedy but it turns out there was a lot more to it. I really enjoyed the movie and I'm glad I picked it up. Elisha Cuthbert was great in it and I look forward to seeing her in other films.
the problem with this movie is that it lacks any kind of believabilty, and it gets bogged down big time in its second half. more time should have been spend exploring the way the relationship builds, I am surprise no one else has mentioned this. they meet, and in the next scene they are in love. silly. It's barely better than padme and anakin. If george lucas had written this people would be screaming bloody murder.
This movie could have been good if they at empoloyed the KISS approach. Keep it simple, stupid. I entire subplot of the sex education video, the stolen money, and the stupid cambodian kid should have been nixed from the script in the second draft.
This movie is too complicated for its own good.
But elisha cuthbert is cute. Being the same ager as her, it should not come across as at all creepy that i have had a thing for her since her "popular mechanics for kids" days.
But it's not as out of control as Girl. The latter doesn't have a plot - it has plot twists. There's a seed of a good movie in there, but it becomes way too obsessed with nutty changes of course...
