    Howdy y'all!

Can anyone help me with disaster movies? I'm a big fan, but i'm kind of stuck with where to go now, after watching (and continually rewatching) EARTHQUAKE, POSEIDON ADVENTURE, AIRPORT and hell, even, THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW.

Can anyone point me in the direction of some more to feed my addiction?

Some that i have in my collection include:

    The Core
    Deep Impact
    Twister
    Volcano

Not too many now that I go through my collection.

Not all of them are the greatest movies, just a good disaster flick to watch when you're in the mood.

Another vote for A Night to Remember and I really enjoy Dante's Peak when I'm in my disaster flick mode.

The Swarm...just try to ignore the huge holes in the plot, laughable (unintentional) writing, bad acting (ever though it sports a very notable cast) and sub-par special effects and you might just enjoy it [IMG] Actually, the film looks better than ever on DVD and contains an extended version of the film (which some might view as additional torture[IMG] )

"Kakatoa East Of Java" not very good but the special effects were nominated for an Oscar. Too bad it's mono on DVD, as it was in 70mm and Six track stereo sound! It had a very active surround track it was like the rocks were flying around in the theatre!

You'll be a very happy guy next year when the new POSEIDON ADVENTURE comes out. Had the opportunity to look at the upside down sets being built at WB Studios and they look awesome.

Don't forget such other laughable entries (besides THE SWARM):

    METEOR (1979)
    AVALANCHE (1978)
    AIRPORT: CONCORDE (1979)

While on the subject of disaster movies, I need some help in remembering the title of one.

I watched it in high school during one of my classes, but the damn title escapes me. It's earthquake-related, and the only major detail that I can remember is that it uses real footage from an earthquake that occurred I believe in California where a double-decker highway collapsed and crushed people in their cars. I could be wrong on the location, but I am 100% sure about the fact that the movie uses actual footage from the real event.

    Anyone know?
