Raise the Red Lantern instantly became one of my favourite movies the other day. It was love at first sight. Can't wait for this one on blu (here's hoping its a good transfer, as always)

Riding Alone was a four-star experience until a scene in its latter involving someone having their picture taking going to the toilet that guaranteed I'll never watch it ever again. For fear of spoilering for people, which there's no need to do, I'll just say that I've read people's justifications for why it was a normal thing to include in a movie, and why I should accept it, and why no-one in the movie seemed bothered by it, but at the end of the day it was instant brain-poison for me. However, that aside, it was nice seeing Yimou tackle a modern milieu.
