Some riotous "so bad it's good" cheezeball comedy here. Why don't I own them? Because aside from Tony Manero, I don't like the characters in these films, I just like laughing at them and the hilariously overblown writing and situations.

If I can change, you can change. WE ALL CAN CHANGE :D

1. Rocky III - B+ (Thunderlips, Clubber Lang, Rocky's commercial career, how Rocky "gets soft", the heights of montage hilarity in the various training and fight sequences, Apollo training Rocky to "fight black", the homoerotic beach run)
2. Rocky IV - B+ (Two words: PAULIE'S ROBOT, Rocky corners the market on training montages, Snow Queen Brigitte Nielsen, "I must break you", the Soviet crowd cheering for Rocky, the Gorbachev lookalike, the hardest workin' man in showbiz. Again, MST3K missed the boat going after sci-fi crap movies, they should have been doing movies like Rocky IV)
3. Staying Alive - B (Tony Manero on Broadway! I love the moment when he kisses the woman in the middle of a Broadway show and she claws his eye out, pure soap opera fun. My Mom and I saw it in the theater twice)
4. Rocky II - B (Not as much fun except for the press conferences, the fight is outrageously unrealistic but makes for good movie action)
5. Rocky Balboa - C+ (Outrageously contrived even by Rocky standards, and takes itself way too seriously)
6. The Expendables - C

I've seen all the Rocky movies, but I haven't revisited 2, 4, and 5 in a very long time, so I need another viewing before commiting. This is something that I often do when trying to rate films in these directors threads. I hope to have some kind of marathon this year.

STAYING ALIVE I have no desire to see.
