His father has just killed himself, his mother is a nut, his brother is in a relationship with the local 'vampire', all of his friends are being killed off by a group of young, leather-clad paedophiles and the only person who will listen to him is a dead human fetus which he keeps under the bed.

I never cared for the Superman character in general. Timeline was a great book totally butchered for the big screen.
