Gary,
Looks like this comparison is missing a scorecard, unless you stopped doing them.
One can say ANY color timing or video image is a matter of preference but the Region 1 goes beyond reasonableness when a white shirt on a b&w image doesn't look white but rather appears to be a hack job by someone using a filter they don't even know they are using. Awful. Who ever worked on this video image and supervised the effort should find a different line of work. Immediately.

Is it just me or does the previous Warner release of Splendor In The Grass look better and truer to it's elements than the 'remaster' offered in the new Nathalie Wood Collection?

Should we hang on to our old snapper versions of this one?

Looks like they made it brighter with less grain, not better.

So having only the screen caps to go by, is the consensus that we should hang on to the old snapper release?

Warners box set transfers as of late have been less than impressive in contrast to their past few years track record...

It has constant natural looking film grain that is less coarse than the previous release with better compression. I just watched it in motion and thought it looked very nice and film-like throughout. It does seem to suffer from some contrast boosting with bright areas verging on blooming during certain shots.
