It's weird, but I've only ordered one item so far, and it just really hard for me to find more stuff I'd want at the price (after discount). I guess I'll hope the upcoming local sales will be enough to satisfy my need for low prices on my DVD purchases.

Well, it is their prerogative (not that I agree with their decision).

There are a number of box sets I'd like to order come Tuesday, and I'll check their website in the morning to see if the prices have changed dramatically before I hit the B&M locations. If the difference is a few cents on an item, I'll pick it up locally; if we're talking dollars, I'll go ahead with DDD.

For some reason, they punted my order due to being unable to process my credit card charge (but of course, I place the order again, and had to burn another 20% off code because the first code has been used before. Thankfully, there are more codes than probably orders from me this time).

Oh well. I just saved a load of dough at DDDvd.com that's for sure. (I ordered stuff that I knew didn't have a changed price, coupla box sets with big savings attached.) Thank you all for the heads up. I don't know why I don't stop on this forum more often!

Micah, I got "Laura" for $7.49 from amazon, back in August. They now have it for $8.98. Guess we have to accept the fact that dvd prices fluctuate just like computer memory chips.

Damm! I just placed an order for Buffy seasons 3-6 (I alreday have 1,2 and 7) for $130.94. I wonder if they'll let me cancel? If so I'll get the complete set and then sell my current ones. Does anyone know if there's anything in the individual sets that isn't in the complete set?

The complete set has the exact same 39 discs as the individual sets plus 1 bonus disc. So, you actually get an additional disc and much more compact packaging by getting the complete set.

I went easy compared to some- Complete Buffy plus Simpsons season 6.

I took a few minutes to fill out the bizrate survey at the end & got a year each of Entertainment Weekly & Reader's Digest for $4. I think it's worth the trouble.

For those complaining about prices... geez, what can I say? DDD has some of the lowest prices around, free shipping, & who else does 20% off everything sales? Where else are you going to find that Complete Buffy set for $112 shipped? That's $16 per season. Try doing that with Star Trek or the X-Files.

Hi BernieV and group,
Regarding my first post, I'm referring to the California State tax applied to a retail sale- add the tax to the regular retail price, and I'm paying under 50% through the DDD sale. Fortunately, we don't have to pay any sales tax in California on DDD purchases.

I bought a few more DVDs ("La Strada," "State Fair," "World According to Garp"), then put a self-imposed freeze on buying any more titles. Now I'll just add to my DDD wishlist until (hopefully) another one of these great sales roll around next year.
