This is the best news of the day, the week, and possibly the month. I was all excited about Moulin Rouge! and Last of the Mohicans, and then I see this.

The best Blu news day (besides hearing about The New World) ever :)

I couldn't be more excited about this news.

I had hoped for, but not really believed, that this movie would get the Criterion treatment. Now it can't go wrong, one just has to ... wait.

Isn't this the first title Fox has licensed to Criterion? Is this the beginning of another beautiful friendship?

No, Fox has licensed a bunch of films to Criterion (and on the Blu-Ray front, Criterion has released the Fox licensed KAGEMUSHA and BIGGER THAN LIFE and will be releasing THE LEOPARD in a couple of months)

Here is a list of 20th Century Fox films that Criterion has released:
    220 Naked Lunch
    224 Pickup on South Street
    230 3 Women
    235 The Leopard
    267 Kagemusha
    273 Thieves Highway
    274 Night and the City
    291 Heaven Can Wait
    292 Unfaithfully Yours
    320 Young Mr. Lincoln
    426 The Ice Storm
    507 Bigger Than Life

It would also be nice to see a legitimate restoration and release of the 1964 version of THE THIN RED LINE.

Wow, I can't wait! I always change my mind about whether this or Days Of Heaven is my favorite Malick film. To have both of them on blu-ray from Criterion is a godsend.
