The thing is those other films are Toho films and the LONE WOLF films are, like some of the ZATOICHI films that AnimEigo had, Katsu/Toho co-produtions, so they may have been a package deal. In any event, both the LADY SNOWBLOOD films and LONE WOLF AND CUB films are big titles and AnimEigo has lost the rights to them.

A Criterion Lone Wolf and Cub set that also included the Shogun Assassin alternate English versions would be just about the greatest thing ever in my humble opinion. :)

This will likely be my most expensive blind (no pun intended) purchase ever. Have heard nothing but good things about the series of films but there's going to be an awful lot of DVDs in this set I won't need. Maybe I can sell them to offset the cost.

I also ordered this (50% off from Barnes&Noble) and I don't know much about these movies. Probably a great package to start, though.
