You have no idea...MAN IN THE DARK is absolutely STUPENDOUS in 3-D; I saw the restored polarized 3-D version on the big screen here in Seattle a few months ago during a Noir festival, and despite the Noir expert screening host slagging it off as junk, I thought it was extremely and unpretentiously entertaining, with some of the absolute best 3-D effects I've ever seen. Plot, direction and acting were enjoyable, depth was fantastic, and there was lots of stuff poking me in the face. I LOVE it when 3-D films utilize their full potential and throw stuff at you, and this baby delivers the goods. I can't wait to own it on Blu.

As for non-3D films I'd like to see converted, here's a short list:

A TRIP TO THE MOON (1902)
THE CABINET OF DR. CALIGARI (1919)
    NOSFERATU (1922)
    SAFETY LAST! (1923)
    SHERLOCK JR. (1925)
    METROPOLIS (1927)
    KING KONG (1933)
    MODERN TIMES (1936)
    PINOCCHIO (1940)
    FANTASIA (1941)
    EASTER PARADE (1948)
    ALICE IN WONDERLAND (1951)
20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA (1954)
    NIGHT OF THE DEMON (1958)
THE FABULOUS WORLD OF JULES VERNE (1958)
    JASON AND THE ARGONAUTS (1963)
    MARY POPPINS (1964)
    CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG (1968)
    FRITZ THE CAT (1972)
    DAWN OF THE DEAD (1979)
    THE NEVERENDING STORY (1984)
    THE TERMINATOR (1984)
    LIFEFORCE (1985)
    RE-ANIMATOR (1985)
    POLICE STORY (1985)
THE ADVENTURES OF BARON MUNCHAUSEN (1989)
    AKIRA (1989)
    THE IRON GIANT (1999)

But, before they get 'round to these, I want:

    INFERNO (1953)
    THE MAZE (1953)
    CAT-WOMEN OF THE MOON (1953)
    ROBOT MONSTER (1953)
IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE (1953)
    REVENGE OF THE CREATURE (1954)
    THE MAD MAGICIAN (1954)
    GOG (1954)
    GORILLA AT LARGE (1954)
PHANTOM OF THE RUE MORGUE (1954)
    FLESH FOR FRANKENSTEIN (1973)
FRIDAY THE 13TH PART III (1982)
    JAWS 3-D (1983)
TREASURE OF THE FOUR CROWNS (1983)

Personally, after seeing how terrific THE GREAT GATSBY looked
in 3D, I contacted Fox and asked them if they would consider pushing
Baz Luhrmann to convert MOULIN ROUGE into 3D.

The idea did go over well, so at least it's out there.

Part of Safety Last was converted, and shown on a 3D awards show a while back. Too bad Criterion didn't include it.

How about converting Daniel Haller's "Die Monster, Die"? It looks like it was meant for 3D in the first place given the amount of stuff poking at the lens throughout the whole movie.

I'd love to see Miracle an 34th Street (1947) and the Santa Clause (1994) converted to 3D.

These converter applications seem to be largely powered by wishful thinking, like the "conversion" software in 3D TVs.
They take forever to produce anything and are a waste of time.

There actually is a 3D NOSFERATU. It goes under the title ORLOCK THE VAMPIRE. Unfortunately, it's the old anaglyph type...I'd certainly love to see it (and nearly everything else on your list) on contemporary Blu 3D..

Nothing would induce me to watch Star Trek TMP again, not 3D or the addition of scenes of Lorraine Kelly covered in custard.

'Rango' without a doubt!. I think its genious, seen it several times on blu ray on different tv's. Stunning picture quality and it lends itself to 3D so well I think.

So much so that I have been holding off buying it for the 3D version because I was sure (as were others) that it was released in the theater in 3D. The only reason for not doing 3D is that the 2D image has got to be the sharpest, highest resolution image I have ever scene.

    1. Are there any 2D films in the process of conversion? I know several were announced a year or so ago; but most have been canceled.
    2. I guess a couple Disney conversions are being release over seas....might these be released in the U.S.? I am getting a bit nervous, since theatrical 3D don't seem to be getting released.

A couple of years ago Roland Emmerich's 2012 was converted to 3D and released theatrically in Asia.

We're still waiting for The Phantom Menace 3D to get a Blu-ray release, well I am anyway. :)

And I hear Dr. No was converted to 3D, or was that just a rumour?

    ID4 converted to 3D? Maybe.

From accounts Dr. No was an unauthorized Hong Kong project that also yielded Rope and Dial M conversions. The cover for Dial M reproduced a photo of Chalize Theron as Grace Kelly
