I need to replace a malfunctioning DVD player. Its HDMI output connects directly to a projector and it analog audio to a preamp, which feeds an old but quite nice powered stereo pair (Genelec).

On the bright side, it seems a servicable Blu Ray player can be had for under $100. But it won't have have audio outputs i can connect to the preamp. So how do i connect it?

[*]Audio de-embedder?
[*]Find an old player with analog outputs?
[*]I cannot find anything like a stereo pre-amp with HDMI input anywhere close to my budget.
[/list]
What other strategies could I consider?

Title should have been
Connect Blu Ray player to analog powered stereo speakers

because there's another possibility: Some players (e.g. Samung F5100) have a digital audio output that could be converted to stereo analog with something like this. Converter costs as much as the player but it's an option.
