yeah i remember the snatch in the elevator well - took me completely by surprise :)

totally agree with that - the person who was snatched was a "plant" in the group, but of course you did not realise that at the time!

my buddy Nick and I were huge Alien junkies and took the train up to London as soon as the experience opened in the base of the Trocadero

it was very effective, and actually quite scary considering it was just actors and practical effects, the shop opposite had some great props from the film including our favourite the "pulse rifle"

we went for a second visit a month later, hung back from the group, wandered off, and decided to try and have some close "interaction" with one of the aliens, and got told to "f*ck off" by the actor!!

That link only lists a commentary for Alien. It mentions the Alien Saga but it is not listed in the details of the extras. The deluxe set in the "egg" packaging comes with four DVDs. It worries me that this may be the only way to get everything included in the Alien Quadrilogy.

Then there's this interesting extra on Alien Resurrection: Newborn Dick Removal (1'43")

I'm doubting that the list is a final tally of everything that will be on this set. It was promised that Everything from the Quadrilogy was going to be included in this release. So not seeing the commentaries listed for the other films confirms that to some degree. Also, it was reported that Sigourney Weaver recorded new commentaries for all four films, so we should be seeing something to that end as well. I also hope they port over Ridley's original commentary for Alien so we have everything that was ever released for that film (even though I can probably never retire the original Alien DVD because like the Quadrilogy version, the new release probably won't have the original Fox Logo or the original color timing)

As for the Disc 2s of the Quadrilogy, at first glance that seems like the case that the deluxe edition will probably be sporting those exact discs kind of like what was done with the Endoskull T2 BD release (unfortunately it also virtually kills all hope that the uncut Alien3 doc will surface on this release). Those docs IIRC were taped in SD so there's no benefit of BD for those. Still, it's a bit annoying that you either have to spend more, to get it all or not be able to retire your Quadrilogy set, but I guess not the end of the world either.

Still, getting pretty excited over the release.

Easy pass for me on the 'collectible' version of this. I figured that out of all the leaked designs, the one with both an alien and the egg would likely get the nod. Had it been just the egg, I might have been tempted. I liked the more understated, and prop replica-like nature of something like that- but I understand most everyone else would want something more illustrative and money shot-ish(for lack of a better phrase).

Also great news for fans of the third film. Glad to see the full, uncensored doc will finally see the light of day.

Depending on how good a sale I can find after Black Friday, I just might wait for an individual release for the first two.

Getting kind of tired spending money on two films I never watch and don't plan to.

Because the Alien Legacy is included in this set, it has brought up a question in my mind. How did I acquire it in the first place? Was it some sort of mail-in offer? The disc I've got is in an Alien printed card board sleeve. Hasn't it been hard to acquire since?

Another question is has there been any indication whether any of the past extras are going to be in HD. I would guess they haven't bothered to go back and remaster, but they have pulled out all the stops for this set, so maybe they could surprise me.

I believe it was a mail-in offer with the earlier "Alien Legacy" DVD set.
