Component Input Problem (1 Viewer)

I've got a 3 year old 27" Panasonic Tau direct-view television. This afternoon I turned on my DVD player (connect via component cables) and there was no blue in the picture. I've played with the cables a lot and deduced that it's the blue input jack on the television that's the problem. Does anyone have any advice for what I could do? How much would this cost to fix? Would I be better off to just buy an s-video cable and use that until I get a new television (probably at least 18 months from now).

I would go the S-Video route based on the TV's size and technology. I'm sure the cost of parts is next to nothing but labor on the job would cost a bit.
