If you are looking to adapt for DV capture from TV

Coax to VCR
VCR to RCA cables
RCA to something like the Dazzle Hollywood DV Bridge
DV Bridge to firewire (1394)

If you're looking to do HD, there's a board that can take component and turn it to 1394, runs about $1500-$2000
