I used to have an older Cerwin Vega sub, the LW-15 which I thought was pretty decent, until I went ahead and purchased a SVS PC+ 16-46 sub. The SVS blew the Cerwin Vega out of the water with clean clear bass. The Cerwin Vega was boomy but was better then not having a subwoofer.
Since then I have purchased another SVS sub the PC+ Ultra and run them both together in my Home Theater Room. Even the lowest model SVS will blow out the Cerwin Vega in terms of clean bass and output.

That "cheapest" SVS is almost three times more expensive--so no surprize it might sound better.

Not everybody needs or wants a sub that can crack windows. :rolleyes

I have an older Cerwin Vega subwoofer and it performs very well. Based on a review by Tom Nousaine, my HT12PWR scored well in its price range, but is not up there with all the new (and expensive) woofs. Still, it has served me wonderfully well for over 8 years.
