I've seen Steven King a few times.

He goes to my store and shops for groceries there sometimes. He came today, actually! :D He probably stops by since he lives 1 city away. I've talked to him a few times. I didn't show much interest, making him think I thought he was just another customer.

A funny thing happened on the way to that quote.
Fifteen year olds shouldn't introduce Michael Jackson in a discussion.

"Did you faint?"

No,I composed myself pretty well.

(I did get multiple warnings from my G/F about behaving myself and not embarassing her)

As a volunteer for Tribeca, I saw Chris Kline, Ben Savage (from Boy Meets World), and Todd Oldham. Didn't recognize him at first.

Funnily enough though, I was waiting at the Nintendo store a few months ago for my Wii, by the Today show, and out comes Spike Lee from a car into the building. Short man. And Jaclyn Smith. Me being far too young to know who she is, failed to be excited.

Living close to Road Atlanta and working at his favorite Chinese restaurant i've seen Paul Newman several times but thats been twenty years ago or more.
In L.A.X. about twelve years ago, I walked into a bar and there sat Bernie Kopel (sp?) the ships' doctor from "The Love Boat" with two very attractive women and about five miutes later, Dick Clark and his wife walked through the concourse. Funny how celebrities always look shorter in real life, esp. DC and PN.

I had several when I first moved to Hollywood in the summer of '99. Pamela Anderson was my first one... saw her in a car on a wagon in the back of a truck with a big Panavision camera looking down on her, shooting that TV series she used to do. That was about two weeks after I moved here.

Then I saw Bronson Pinchot at Whole Foods Market in Burbank shortly afterward.

My biggest sighting besides Pamela was probably Francis Ford Coppola. I was temping at Disney at the time. I was leaving work about 5PM, and coming in the door I was heading for was a middle-aged, slightly heavyset man in a nice business suit. He had a short-trimmed, graying beard. There was a young woman with him. Then he raised an apple to his mouth and took a big, sloppy bite.

They two were looking around uncertainly. I heard the woman say, "I think there's an elevator somewhere." The man said, "I can't take the elevator! I can't walk into a meeting eating an apple!" I was almost to them at this point, and thought about saying, "Here, I'll take it," and throwing it away.

Then they started up the staircase, and as I was heading out the door, that's when I turned around to look at them, and it hit me WHO THAT WAS. I almost said, "Are you Francis?" But I don't like to bother celebrities. (But I regret not offering to take the apple... I probably could have gotten a few hundred for it on eBay.)

I've seen numerous other celebrities around town, but not many in the past year. I also saw Pete Postlewait (sp?) at Disney, and Rob Schneider, sitting on a bench as they prepared a scene, looking somewhat tired or depressed or something. I almost said, "Don't look so sad." But I didn't.

Saw John Larroquette at Amoeba Music once. Saw Benjamin Bratt pull around the corner in his sports car. He had dark sunglasses on, but pretty sure it was him. Saw Linda Hamilton at the Ralph's supermarket by Universal Studios.

I've had numerous other celeb sightings, but that's all I can think of at the moment.

At two different times, my Grandma was asked by airport/celebrity staff if she would wait for the next flight so that Jimmie Walker and Wayne Newton could make the earlier flight. I was not there, nor was I alive - but it's true. She said Jimmie was super nice.

Kevin Pollack was performing at the Funny Bone and came into the movie theatre I work at when The Incredibles came out. The person next to me on register helped him. Funny story -

The manager rung him up at the box office, then ran up to the concession stand in the middle of my friend and myself and I instantly recognized him, pretty much ignoring my customer. The manager says to me, "Who is that? I can't remember his name!" I say "THAT'S KEVIN frickin' POLLACK!" - The manager says to him, "I could'nt remember your name, but Ryan knew it right away!" Kevin looks at us both and says "Maybe he should be running the show." - NIIIICE. ;) He ordered a small Coke and a Small popcorn, was pissed when my friend upsold to him, and was pissed when we did not expcept credit cards. lol.

Best day ever. ;)

I've met a lot more celebrities at concerts, stand-up shows, and the like.

I took Pete Sampras's movie ticket once when I worked at the cinema and he was here for a tennis tournament. He saw "In the Line of Fire."

I met Florence Henderson this weekend at the Indy 500 Festival Parade. I told her that I loved her and she responded "Thank you so much! I love YOU too!" What a nice lady :)

I used to work in a grocery store in Roanoke, TX in the 80's. Byron Nelson lived very close by, and was in the store a lot. I can't say I "knew" him, but it was common enough to see him that you would just say "Hi, Mr. Nelson", and take out his groceries. He told me to be careful riding my motorcycle, which was always parked up front, under the main overhang.

I met many of the Von Erich wrestling clan, most of whom perished in the following years. One of them had a pet parrot. He came into the grocery store for peanuts. I found a huge bag of them in the back, got them, rang them up, and carried them out. Everyone int he store was staring. I was, apparently, the only one who had no idea who he was. I'm still not sure exactly which one he was...

The biggest is one I do not remember. In 1969 I was in Children's Medical Center for corrective surgery for a birth defect. Before the surgery, I got out of the room and was running down the hall. A gentleman whose wife was having a baby there stepped off the elevator, picked me up, and gave me back to my mother. That gentleman was Don Meredith, whose wife was being constantly visited by her husband's teammates. I don't know if my parents got autographs...but I would *hope* that they had other concerns on their mind.

I once shook hands with Robert F. Kennedy when he made a campaign stop in Fresno back in '68. Once I was waiting for Chinese takeout when the guy who played Jaws in the Bond films came in for lunch--he lived up in the mountains near Fresno at the time.
