My sister was an extra in a T.V. movie starring Tony Danza. She met him and has pictures.

I am currently working with Bear trainer Ruth LaBarge. She has had Bears in many Movies, T.V. shows, and commercials. The most notable would be Dr. Dolittle 2, Grizzly Falls (all 6 Bears in that movie), Walker Texas Ranger. On a set a gentleman started asking her questions but she was busy and without knowing who it was she just ignored him and continued her work. Only later did she find out it was Jerry Seinfeld.

No story but did see Fred Willard (Fernwood 2Nite) at LAX at a baggage carousel in a really bad suit from what looked to be the 70's. He's a big fella (compared to me). He was looking quite haggard.

I was visiting a friend in NYC for a couple of days and checking out the sites. We were walking into the Chrysler Building, I was talking to her and not paying attention and walked right into Gene Shallet.

Another time I was in line to get on the Revolution roller coaster at Magic Mountain in CA and Kristy McNichol came in the line right after me. This was back in the 70's when she was at the height of her popularity. I felt pretty sorry for her as she was immediately accosted by a savage band of Girl Scouts.

I've met a number of danish celebrities/actors, but I guess you wouldn't know them... Well actually, maybe Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, the lead of the original version of "The Nightwatch". He also plays a sniper in Black Hawk Down.
In fact, the story is quite amusing, since I met him on a bus with some friends, and we were pretty drunk. We didn't speak directly to him, but I guess he thought we were somehow annoying with our stupid drunken blabbering.

I live in New York City. Sightings occur so often that I've lost count.
Michael - I couldn't agree more!! Living in this city, sometimes I see a different celebrity everyday! Here are my recent few:

Sat next to Spike Lee in the Timberland store on Madison Ave while we were both trying on boots. He was with his son who had no interest in the boots he was trying on - so he asked my opinion. Very cool guy - dressed in all Knicks clothing down to his socks!!

Physically bumped into Julianna Margulies walking into Paragon Sports as she was walking out talking on her cell phone (not paying attention). I never thought she was that pretty until I saw her in person - with no makeup on at all, she was absolutely beautiful!

Escorted Hillary Swank to the subway on New Years Eve day. I was in Saks 5th Ave riding down the escalator, she stepped on the escalator on a different floor stepping in front of me. She was wearing jeans and a baseball hat, looking like an ordinary New Yorker. She turned to me and asked how to get to 34th & 6th (Saks is on 50th & 5th) on the subway. I told her how (B,D,F train) and where it was. She seemed a bit confused, so I told her I was going toward the station and would take her there - she thanked me and proceeded to tell me that she's been living in NYC for 2 years and she loves the subway, even though she gets lost all the time!! She was one of the nicest, sweetest people I have met. She even has a great sense of humor.

Celebrity sightings in New York City are really an everyday occurrence. Just go out to dinner or do a little shopping and your bound to see someone!!

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention this, I saw Shaq at Virgin Megastore, the one at Union Square, a couple of years ago. He was browsing the CD isles with some lady. They didn't seem like lovers. He had on a cap and it seemed he was trying to avoid looking up. I got the impression that he was somewhat conscious of his status. Of course his size didn't help!

He was quite slender, not at all the Hulk-like thing I had pictured. I guess his impressive height (guy towered a good head above me and I am 6'3") somewhat cancels out his still impressive bulk. I walked past him a couple of times just to size him up :D

Not to hijack the thread I started, but I do that all the time! At 6'1", I'm not huge but I can't help but to try to discreetly walk up beside very tall people just to see how much taller they are. I just get totally fascinated with doing this.

While working at the Sunglass Hut in college, I sold a pair of Revos to Nick Faldo (golfer). I had no idea who he was until smoeone asked him for his autograph.

That's about as good as it gets in Cleveland.

I met Gil Gerard (Buck Rodgers in the 25 Century) at a Marie Calenders in L.A. county when I was about 4. I think it was an arranged event that my sister was at for winning some book reading contest at her school. I remember asking him where his space ship was. He said it was around the side of the building.

I have a bunch of them, but the three I can remember right now are:

1. When I worked for Compaq several years ago in Houston I was walling to lunch with my coworkers when a man in a suit asked us to stand to the side of the hallway. We were confused until we saw the president of the company walking with George H. Bush walk right past us. I wanted to talk to George, but I was so taken back that I wasn't sure what to say. So of course I said "Hi, George", and have kicked myself ever since.

2. Once I went to a small restaurant (about 10 tables) in Dallas and they had a picture of Morton Downey Jr. on the wall. I went on a long tirade about what an idiot he is which lasted long after we were seated. Several minutes later, the couple at the next table got up and then I realized that the man sitting less than 3 feet behind me during my tirade was the man himself.

3. I met Mike Wallace in an elevator on my honeymoon. We talked for a few seconds, and he wished us luck. I now tell people that my marriage is sanctioned by 60 minutes.

I have two favorite celebrity stories. Both happened when I was in college in Houston. As part of one of my jobs, I escorted visiting celebs around to radio, television, and newspaper interviews, etc.

The first celeb in question was Patrick Macnee (John Steed in The Avengers). At one point during the afternoon we had an extra hour between interviews and he asked to go visit a bookstore in the area and I took him to the Bookstop on Alabama (which used to be a great old movie theater). Of course, there were lots of people peeking around the corner of the bookshelves trying to figure out if he was who they thought he was.

But the point that makes it memorable was when we went to check out. Behind the corner was a clerk who I had known for a few years and was Joe Cool everytime I've seen him. He grabbed the books, started ringing them up and looked up to make eye contact with Mr. Macnee. It was at that point that Joe Cool completely lost it. I kid you not, he couldn't remember how to run the register! Charging the card took some time as he kept pushing the wrong buttons and then after Mr. Macnee signed the slip, he separated the slips and then put all of them in the bag. We had to tell him that he needed to put some of the slip in the register and he fumbled around, finally remembering what he had to do.

It was a lot of fun to watch someone completely lose it in front of a celeb. Mr. Macnee was gracious during the entire matter and also found it quite funny.

As for the other story... next message.

Me Too.

I got to sit down and talk to the Golden Jet Bobby Hull for a couple hours as he signed autographs. I've also talked with (canadian) senator Frank Mahvolich also a former star with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The second story also happened in college during a celeb escort. This was actually one of the first celebs I took around.

The celeb in question was Lasse Hallström and the occasion was the Houston opening of MY LIFE AS A DOG. Both me and David the manager of the theater it was opening at were picking him up at the airport. The owner of the theater had given David his wife's big Volvo to pick him up in.

We were exiting Houston Intercontinental Airport with David driving, me in the passenger seat and Lasse and his girlfriend in the back seat. I was going over the schedule and David was spending too much time looking at our guests and not at the road. As you would expect, WHAM!, we rear-ended a truck. At this point David was absolutely mortified. The front was damaged, but it was drivable. There wasn't time to go rent another car so we all decided to head out in the car. (David was, naturally, convinced he would have to find a new job shortly...)

We got on Beltway 8 heading towards I45 and, after about a minute the hood of the car few up and over the windshield completely blinding us. David quickly lowered his head so he could see out the crack between the lowest part of the hood and the dashboard so he could negotiate us off to the side of the road. David's mortification turned to complete horror. In the meantime, I was busy trying to relax Lasse and his girlfriend. (Truth be told, he told us afterward he found the entire experience to be a fun, unique experience.)

After pulling over, we pulled the hood down but discovered that we could no longer secure the hood. And, once again, we had to get Lasse to a tv interview so we had to get the car on the road again. We looked through the trunk the inside of the car for a piece of rope to secure the hood but couldn't find any. Finally we thought we could use a shoelace. Unfortunately both David and I were wearing loafers, but Lasse was wearing laced shoes. He removed his shoes, unlaced the shoelaces, and we were able to secure the hood.

We made it to the first interview on time and immediately went out and picked up a rental car. David wasn't fired but decided to bow out of the rest of the day as he considered himself bad luck.

The evening even ended well with myself, David, Lasse and his girlfriend, the owner of the theater and his wife, and the movie critic for the Houston Post.

But as long as I'll live, I'll never forget this story.

I have met the former Governor of Minnesota, Jesse Ventura.

Also, just last year, when I was at Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri, I saw Scott Bakula from Quantum Leap in a restaurant. I didn't talk to him, though.

Don't have anything else other than those two.

Regarding Chuck Yeager.

Actually, it's "was married." Glennis Yeager died in, I believe, 1991 of ovarian cancer

He was there for his birthday party. He's a true American hero.
Yeah, it was 80th birthday and I swear the man is still going 100 mph. I did not know she was dead, you wouldn't have known it from talking to him. But he was just talking about the joys she brought to his life and what I had to look forward to.

After his speach, I ran and bought a copy of Yeager, had him sign it and shook his hand. One of my most awesome moments in my life.

So I'm walking back from lunch about 5 minutes ago here in downtown Boston, and a line of police motorcycles and a couple of Suburbans pull up in front of an office building. A small crowd starts to form as the police halt foot and motor traffic, and out pops Bill Clinton. He shook people's hands for a while then went inside.
