Yes, insurance companies are not 401k's They don't care how much you've paid them in the past.

That was pretty much my point. I know that I will never see what I have already paid them, but the fact that they want to collect even more money than what the "accident" was worth is just assinine (to me).

You slid into the back of a minivan. Part of the cause of the rate increase would be because the accident was your fault.

Why did you put accident in quotes? It clearly was an accident.

Yeah, I know.:b I guess that sometimes when the term, accident, is used people tend to think to the extremes (ex: major damage, personal injury, etc.) I was just trying to illustrate that mine was to the smallest degree (even the other driver felt really bad for me due to the conditions that we both experienced).
