Have you seen the "Just call me 'Thread Killer.'"
Need I say more?
It is like a fungal growth that wont go away.

I have no idea why threads get locked around here.
Well, I started a thread that had a picture warning people not to do a certain "personal" thing, or else a certain someone would kill a cute little certain type of pet. (Sorry, I want to be super vague so I don't ruffle any feathers)

Hahaha, I think that picture and quote are funny as all hell!!!Cam, you just made my day.
At least I know there's one other sicko out there that enjoys my humor.
We have received more member complaints about After Hours posts than all other sections combined. Further, this section has come perilously close to being shut down altogether--in fact, as recently as last week.
It can be fun to laugh about past indiscretions, no harm there. But you should read some of the complaints we receive regarding offense AH posts, and then appreciate better just how often and easily people can be offended by the occasional thoughtless post that pops up here.Although, I have to ask, are posts being locked/deleted simply because one person takes offense? Or do they have to really be in bad taste?
I'm all for locking down nasty threads. I'm just curious, though, as to what criteria have to be met. I'd hate to think that a single complaint always results in a thread lock. If the moderators agree with the complaint, that's one thing - who am I to question your actions? But, given enough people, there is always someone who will take offense to any given post.
Anyway, I'd hate to see After Hours close because of a few nasty members. 90% of my posts are here. I enjoy BSing with people who share my interest in Home Theater more than I do talking about Home Theater specifically (this is because every time I enter another forum here, I end up spending money and/or embarking on a new HT project).
I'm just curious, though, as to what criteria have to be met.Again, read the descriptive blurb for After Hours.
The latest emphasis has been a reinvigorated get-tough approach to sexist posts and threads--and I promise you this will continue.
Sometimes an admin may simply not like the tone of a thread and just shut the thing down--one example was the thread Steve Christou mentioned; any thread that singles out another Forum member is subject to scrutiny.
After Hours can be a fun place, but we prefer not to see members post here exclusively (and the same applies to another Forum section found immediately "next door" to this one).
what used to be the "Polls" sectionUsed to be is right. Now it might as well just be called the "tournament" section.
