I liked QoS, and even more the second or third time around. I think it's actually a beautifully constructed fever dream about a man who's lost everything and filled with a pain he had never felt before, so bad that it triggers an unimaginable rage... and that the journey Bond began in Casino Royale from being a young agent into "James Bond" as we know him is completed at the end of the film, when he learns to let go, but also closes himself off in a way that will make him both the Bond we know and a man who will never be open to the kind of connection with another person we saw in Casino Royale. The movie wasn't perfect by any means, but the opening was a fantastic bit of stunt work... the opera scene (and ensuing chase) was gorgeous... and I loved the ending moments, from when he confronted Vesper's exboyfriend to the final fade out. (Also loved how the use of the gun barrel was held back until after the film had ended, as if to declare, NOW he's finished growing, now he's the guy you all know.) I have no desire to get into an extended argument with anyone who doesn't like Craig's portrayal of Bond or how his two films turned out, but for me, they worked.
