I believe Titan Video has shot some SCENES in Hi-Def, but no full-length features yet. Falcon is apparently taking a wait-and-see approach with the format wars AND they acknowledge that not everyone is cut out for appearing in an HD video because of the same concerns that many have expressed here...although Roman Heart would be #1 on my list of guys to be in their first HD feature!
Porn is still watched on video tape by many people and its influence was more powerful in the days of that format because for the first time John and Jane Doe could walk in to a neighborhood store and discreetly acquire a dirty movie. Porn ain't gonna save Blu-Ray whatever your hopes may be. I am so sure HD DVD will ultimately prevail that I am taking cash bets. There are so many reported problems with Blu-Ray and now even possible problems with the PS3 hardware. Too many holes will sink this ship. Don't forget: Bad news travels faster than good news. Even the sales people on the floor at the local electronics retailers have been hearing the negative Blu-Ray buzz. The one near my home in Phoenix said they have had a couple of Samsung units sitting on the shelf for weeks yet cannot keep the HD DVD players in stock. The only thing keeping people from buying HD DVD is adequate supply. According to the main page article, 33% more HD DVD players have sold since the launch of both formats. Toshiba better get some other manufacturers aboard.
Actually the %33 percent number was the percentage that HD DVD players outsold Bluray players in the six week period after the Samsung came out. It is not taking into account the number of HD DVD players sold before the Bluray release.
