Bidding on HK receivers on eBay (1 Viewer)

I've been looking at HK receivers at Harmanaudio on eBay. I've noticed a couple of bidders have bids in 3 or 4 current auctions for HK320 at the same time.

Are they buying them for resale?
Are they bogus bids to run the price up?
Am I paranoid?

OK, those last two questions weren't serious, but I am curious. With winning bids around $330 plus shipping, that wouldn't leave much room for profit if reselling them.

Anybody with more experience with eBay have thoughts on this?

Make sure they are not refurbs. Also, do not bid on any auction unless the seller is an authorized dealer. There are very few real authorized dealers for these type products.

When I was bidding on my Fluance speakers, I emailed Fluance to make sure the seller was authorized. And, they were.
Caveat Emptor.

These are refurbs from the HK factory through the Harmanaudio store on eBay. That's why I thought it would be hard for an individual to resell them for profit.

I agree 100%, though. It's best to buy from an authorized dealer.

You know, I wouldn't balk at a good price on a refurb receiver IF it was from an authorized dealer. At least then you still get the factory warranty of 2-5 years, depending on the manufacturer.
But if harmonaudio is authorized, go for it.

Harman Audio is H&K so the refurbs are coming straight from the factory. I purchased Infinity IL40's and Infinity IL 10's Speakers from them at an unbeleivable price and have never had a problem with them.

Sometimes refurbs are better then Brand New especially when they are Factory Reconditioned.
