Read higher, I meant to compare the 50ti's to the Studio 20's, since they are around the same price. I suggested to go with the Axioms since you seem to get so much more for your money. I agree with your strategy, get the most for your money, definitely, I'm with ya.
If you get them and you leave on vacation anytime this year, ship em on over to me and Evan M. before you leave so we can demo them over here in Maine. ;)
We'll ship em back before you get back from your vacation. :)

I demoed various Paradigms, specifically the monitor 7 and PRD12. At the time, I A/B'ed with some Wharfedale Evo 20's. The Evo's won. Now I have an Epic Grand Master w/ a VTF 2. In my opinion, the M22's and the VTF2 beat all of those. Much more presence and clarity.

I've owned the M60ti's, VP150 and QS 8's. I loved the QS8's, liked the M60ti's, but wasn't impressed by the VP150. I am in the process of switching to the Paradigm CC-570 center and Studio 60's for the front...I'm keeping the QS 8's for the sides and rear.

I spent sometime listening to the Studio 60's (and 100's) paired with the cc-570. I found the soundstage created by these speakers to be much fuller in the mid-range and less bright on the top end. Very natural/neutral sounding. Where the Axioms were a little brighter and noticed a harshness in the mid-range that wasn't present in the Paradigms.

The cc-570 blew away the VP150 in overall sound quality.

Now the Paradigm Studio 60 and cc-570 was 1,920 compared to Axiom's M60ti and VP 150 for $1,150. One would hope the Paradigms would sound better.

I think the Axiom's are a great bang for the buck. If you have the extra bucks-I would got the Paradigm route.

It's threads like these that make me realize how lucky I am to live in canada, where I was able to get my Studio 60s for about the same price as the M60s from axiom.

My whole studio60/20/cc/pw-2100 setup only cost me $2800CAD or about $2000US.

(sorry if I'm being a thread crapper, but this is a reminder to travel up to canada to buy if you can)

John:

If I read Ernie's thread correctly. He didn't buy the Axiom's M60ti. He bought the Paradigm Studio 60's.

John,

I'd look for some leftover studio v2 stock if you could.

I was able to get my studio60s + studio CC for $1500, which breaks down to the 60s costing around $1050-1100 alone. it being disco'd stock, I don't think $1000 would be out of line for 60s.

The studio60s v2 are easily worth the cost over monitor7s. if it's only that much.

For $1600 US I bought a pair of M80s, a pair of QS-8s, and a VP-150, all in matching cherry from the outlet store at Axiom's website.
