I do not want another box of "Wizard of Oz" related junk. I just want the movie. The last major dvd had junk, junk, junk inside it, and a disc of dumb silent movies that I already had.
Unless they suddenly discover "the Jitterbug" or something, why does Warners feel compelled to give us yet another box of junk?
I understand the desire to have a lack of the non-disc based collector content, but they better not drop the silent films and bonus docs. (Luckily, this is Warner. They don't drop extras for their BD releases.)
They had a 2-disc version too, which omitted the 3rd disc of silent movies and the 'junk'. That's the one I bought because all the content I really wanted was on discs 1&2.
I don't have the time I used to have to do my own custom work. I'm not PICKY! Custom Covers for single or multiple DVD Keepcases works fine for me. I have a lot of them sitting around.
The Wizard of Oz- 1. Please include the ORIGINAL mono soundtrack without the 1998 alterations. 2. Try to include some CBS bumpers. They have appeared on YOUTUBE. 3. Don't windowbox the credits.
Gone With the Wind- 1. Please correct the botched shot from the 2004 release....the shot where Ashley follows Scarlett into the library at Twelve Oaks is missing a couple of frames at the end of the shot. The frames were always there before. The entire shot even looks worse than ever before.
....I wish the cropped shots could be found and inserted but that probably will never happen.
These two are on my must-buy titles for 2009! The others include "Ben-Hur" 50th Anniversary Edition, "An American In Paris", "Gigi" and all the other Best Picture Oscar winners being released in Blu-ray this coming year!
I like the book that How The West Was Won came in, although I thought it could have had more text. (Of course, it wouldn't have been worth an extra $10 or $20!)
