We kind of knew this was going to happen, didn't we? Weren't there two additional releases of The Town after the original Blu-ray?

When ARGO Blu Ray was first released in Europe months ago, it contained an extended version. I bought it then , All region. The few additional scenes did slow down the pace of the film.
Why must the US have to double dip....while the rest of the world did not?

I was going to say, the films pace was barely there as is. I can't see adding more to the film helping it. I'll grab this if I find it dirt cheap as a curiosity, but it's hardly essential.

SYNOPSIS
On November 4, 1979, as the Iranian revolution reaches its boiling point, militants storm the U.S. Embassy in Tehran, taking 52 Americans hostage. In the midst of the chaos, six Americans manage to slip away and find refuge in the home of Canadian Ambassador Ken Taylor. Knowing it is only a matter of time before the six are found out and likely killed, the Canadian and American governments ask the CIA to intervene. The CIA turns to their top “exfiltration” specialist, Tony Mendez, to come up with a plan to get the six Americans safely out of the country. A plan so incredible, it could only happen in the movies.

Yeah, I'm totally NOT going to purchase this. If the European release contained the extended version from the get-go, yet you withhold it here to tempt us to purchase it a second time, I say, NO! You're not going to lure me in with this crap anymore. All done. Give us what you got up front. Can't you studios begin to understand what FAIR is? Of course not. You are corporations who, on a small scale such as this, or on a big one such as most of the screwing we get day in and day out, have no goal in mind except to earn more for your stockholders and CEO's. Gotta say, though -- we earned this. We continue to blithely fill your coffers every day.

Europe/Australia got both versions from the get-go, yes. But if there are some new extras and additional goodies I probably get this one anyway. What a great film!

More footage from the typicially cliché "wife & son subplot"? Argo is a lean thriller. I don't care about Tony Mendez's family problems at all.

I pass.

I initially liked this movie, despite knowing it had been "hollywood-ified". But upon further research on my own, since the extras were slim, the extent of embellishment made me really despise this film. The extras on this extended cut look fascinating, but i fear they will only worsen my view of the film.
