Analog connection to amp (1 Viewer)

(I have a blue ray DVD player connected to my Pioneer VSX527 amp via hdmi)There are 2 analog inputs for audio in named" assignable (CD)"- can I connect a audio cassette tape deck to these inputs ?

Why it matters about the BD player and HDMI here...???
Anything with red/white output...
Your cassette deck...
A Victrola
CD player
Atari
VCR
Whatever, can be connected to red/white input. Labels are just for reference.
In the "old days" AVR used to just have generic "input 1, input 2" or "optical 1 and optical 2"...
But one day AVR manufacturers decided to "get smart"() and label them for you...
