Amplifier For Turntable?

    I hooked up a turntable through an Onkyo TX-SR304. The volume is weak, compared to CD player volume for example. Do I need an amplifier? If so, what should I be looking for? I assume something pretty basic.

    Yes you need a phono pre-amp. They are as cheap as $20.Unless your turntable is MM. Then they are more money.

    Thank you both. The turn table is old so it's MC. I picked up a TC-750, looks like what I need to groove on some vinyl!
