Well, she did push through that panic room door like it was nothing a couple episodes back.

Maybe it was just super-glue that was used to seal up Vaughn's puncture wound (though it was bleeding through at the end of the scene after Lauren was dispatched).

The masks were hard to believe, but turnabout is fairplay is a good excuse for them having Sydney do it as well.

Maybe Lauren will appear in some flashbacks next season. How did she know about the file Jack had in the deposit box? How did Jack get there so quickly? (Transporter technology :) ?)

Vaugn's recovery was hard to believe.

"Resurrection" was quite a misleading title of the episode. I thought we would get more Rambaldi.

I give the revelation at the end a big "so what" for the moment. Maybe it will mean more next year.

I should have mentioned this in my earlier post, but I knew the minute "Lauren" was escorted to the cell adjoining Sark's that it was Syd in disguise. Here's my problem: Isn't Sydney much taller than Lauren?

I know, I know, there's plenty of these issues to go around.

The only reason they had the masks was because of lazy writing.
I expected more from Alias than this plot device.

Or maybe they wanted to pay homage to the original Mission Impossible (which was done with more subtlety when they built the fake hotel room in one ep)? I don't think any spy mask removal scene can be done without MI being considered. It's embedded into most everyone's pop culture consciousness.

EDIT: Not to say I dug it. I just think it might have been a well intentioned idea that just didn't work, not necessarily laziness.

I've been complaining about this all season. The lead characters can kill any number of red-shirts simultaneously, but once they aim at each other, they can't hit squat. Although I thought his first shot was the one that hit her in her right arm -- it was exposed, and caused her to let go of Sydney. And then I don't recall if there were any/many shots in the center of mass, and yes, none in the head. (Last season, Sydney hit Fake-Francie square in each shoulder. WTF?) Is he still going to try and dispose of the body?

It was really dumb of Lauren to quip, "Guess who?" when she jumped Sydney. Unlike "Hi honey", which was kind of funny.

It was, uh, short-sighted of Vaughn to not make Sark lose an eye or something during the torture. We all know Sark is going to escape and run free again. Sark would be at a disadvantage with no depth perception. Of course, we know that Sark can't actually shoot Vaughn (unless maybe it's a season finale) so maybe Vaughn figured he was safe.

It was not good. The masks the characters wore were a silly thing, reminiscent of bad 70s cop/spy shows. The scenes of torture were disturbing and kinda inappropriate given the news lately. Was Vaughn really going to "dispose" of his wife's body after he killed her? Did I tune into the Sopranos?

Sloppy writing, silly plot devices and no real resolution. The only hint of a revelation is that Jack somehow manipulated Sydney from childhood to be where she is. This show is seeming more like the X-Files (the bad years!) all the time.

I hope the extra time off lets them get it together for the sake of the show.

I thought this show indeed jumped into '24' territory wth Vaughn punctured lung and all rose from his sickbed to jump a 3000 mile flight just in time to save Sydney. Oh brother.

An uneven episode and not a particularly satisfying cliff hanger, although Vaughns Badd Ass Tude was fun.

This cast is still terrific though, I just hope they can clean up a lot of loose ends and focus on a better storyline.

There has been so much to dislike about season 3. It really does seem like lazy writing to me, or the kind of wiring that is indended to make the show something of a satire of itself. I sure do hope that season 4 gets back to the roots. I'd hate to think of sitting through another season like this one, but then again, I can't imagine NOT tuning in each week to see how hot Syd is going to look!!

I don't understand why someone should change what they wanted to do with a show creatively because it slightly mirrors something that's big in the news.

It's like saying that pushing back the graduation episode of Buffy because of Columbine was a good thing. It was pretty much not related to the incident in any way. Earshot was understandably pushed back nearly half a year, but an episode involving teens, weapons, and their high school wasn't something out of the ordinary for the show.

Just like Alias and torture scenes. It's not something the show tried for the fun of it. They've done it before, and it was necessary for the episode. If I was that easily offended, I'd have trouble watching TV at all.

Yeah, and don't forget the "ripped from the headlines" stuff from L&O. THAT I consider lazy writing.

According to IMDb, which isn't always reliable regarding height, Jennifer is 5'9", Melissa is 5'8". If that's true, with heels and whatnot, it's probably within the margin of error. Hardly the least plausible part of the show....

I was never suggesting the show shouldn't air the scene(s). I was just saying it was disturbing to see one of the heroes of the show engage in torture.

You might have missed HBO's Strip Search. It was originally pulled because it came out right as the news hit and was strikingly similar to what we hadn't yet learned had happened. However, I don't see why we can't see torture scenes just because... pre-edited commentary ;)

Not a great ending, but at least something besides Rambaldi to fill the gap of Season 4. Can't wait to see Lauren and Anna Espinosa fight back in 2005. :D

Anyways, thanks to "aliasfan" I finally got to see the episode. No thanks to the scumbags and 5/02 DTV mandate non-compliant broadcasters from Hearst-Argyle. May your stock go to hell this year after one of the "Desperate Housewives" shows a nipple to the FCC.
