Panasonic and Sony had been cooperating on competing with the Korean titans for a piece of the OLED display space. Unfortunately, both companies announced that they have been unable to resolved technological bottlenecks that would all for OLED panels to drop to an affordable price. While they successfully did produce panels, the cost was prohibitive.

Both companies are now jointly focused on UHD TV units, which seems to mean LCD based displays.

I guess it will be up to some startup to get a breakthrough on the technology. Maybe the US based inkjet printing technology to create large OLED panels will take flight now....

That's unfortunate. I wonder if DuPont actually spent any of their own money. Or...is DuPont not part of this revelation?

Related note...maybe they'll start up a blueberry business...
