So I am thinking of buying a 4k TV and upgrading my HTPC video card to a 4K capable one too. The problem is, I have a fairly high end Yamaha receiver which does audio and video switching for me, but is capable of only 1080P. To replace it with a similar 4k equivalent would set me back at least 1000 dollars, money that I don't have. Will this work to solve my issue: http://www.monoprice.com/product?pg_no2=3&c_id=101&cp_id=10113&cs_id=1011301&p_id=10249&sortby=&period=&rating=&seq=1&format=4#feedback

Basically, my idea is to split the HD stream and feed one to my TV which would display the video and the other to the receiver which will take care of the audio part. Or do I need to stick to 1080P till I can afford another receiver?

Thanks for your help and this is my first post, so be kind. Ha ha
