Actually, so do I. While I know he directed Confessions, have heard very good things about the film, and have been meaning to try and see it for a while, I haven't actually got around to watching it. Must do that.

I'm glad to see someone mentioned Whisper of the Heart - foreign niche films might not be appropriate for this thread, either, but of the Studio Ghibli set, it's quite a charmer.

Thing is, there are a lot of films out there; they can't all be top-rated, even if they're tops in your hearts. I know Rustler's Rhapsody is one of my favorite Westerns...

Most of the "good stuff" I've been seeing recently has been pretty much foreign... Tampopo, anyone?
