The Spiderwick Chronicles is the type of home invasion film that one gets from Paramount and Nickelodeon as opposed to Lionsgate, and with a tip of the hat to Daphne Du Maurier.

The only blood is green. The only violence is against fantasy creatures. And in the end, no one is hurt except the bad guys.

Spiderwick is a charming fantasy, beautifully produced with delicate effects, that is about to be released by Paramount Home Video on Blu-ray, and it's a winner.

Those who prefer their home theater viewing in a more fine grain fashion will be thrilled that Spiderwick has a clean, clear and sharply honed image, with perfect colors and blacks.

Audio is very well rendered in an all enveloping fashion when called for.

A wonderful film for the late-child, early teen set that comes Highly Recommended.

Thank you for weighing in on this, RAH. There's another thread talking about grain being noticeably absent from this title.

I wasn't going to get this but after hearing some of the reviews, I just might change my mind.
