Wayne Wang's beautiful take on Amy Tan's bestselling novel, The Joy Luck Club, is a very special film. Beautifully shot, and peopled by a great cast, including some very special faces from the past, it arrives on Blu-ray via Disney's Hollywood Pictures, and I'm hopeful that its arrival is a harbinger of other quality Blu-rays to come of catalog titles.

The Joy Luck Club, which was photographed by Amir Mokri, is never less that startlingly beautiful and film-like.

Colors, densities, shadow detail, black levels... all come together to create a magnificent Blu-ray experience.

A quality film, represented via Disney as an extremely high quality Blu-ray experience.
