This quote from Mr Harris' review of the first Blu-ray release of Spartacus was particularly hard to read back in 2010. How gratifying it is now to know everything has been done to restore Mr. Metty's photography to its splendor.

The music! The opening credits have IMPACT.

Yes, it's a crime when these digital wizards scrub clean the Oscar-winning sound effects off a film (The Sound of Music) or in this case the lighting and texture. The opening credits are one of the most exciting parts of the whole film. Kind of reminiscent of the West Side Story overture.
