I purchased the Warner Camp Classics and the Universal c+Sci-Fi Collection and enjoyed them immensely.

Just wondering if the good posters here at the HTF could recommend some other 'B' 1950s horror and Sci-Fi on DVD. I am stilly relatively new to this "genre", but it has really grown on me. I would really love to add some more to my collection.

I realise many of these films are still trapped in PD hell, but if I can grab a couple of films with have decent transfers, I wouldn't really mind.

Cheers!

I'm not sure how easy it is to come by now, but the R2 Hammer Horror: The Early Classics boxset is very good with 'The Four Sided Triangle', 'Quatermass Xperiment' 'Quatermass 2' and 'X the Unknown' - a quartet of British horror tinged sci-fi films from the late 1950s and all very much worth watching.

My full review Early Hammer Collection.

I would recommend Attack of the Giant Leeches, The Giant Gila Monster, The Hand, I Bury the Living, The Screaming Skull, and The Wasp Woman. Each of these is available on the Drive-In Classics collection (two films per disc, as well as tons of advertisements and even an intermission clock like the good old days).

FIEND WITHOUT A FACE (also known as "the flying brain movie") is a must! A litle slow to get started, but once the flying brains attack, it's unforgettable!

Fiendand The Blob are both from Criterion. I think I had placed them both on my wishlist.

Well it's not an all inclusive list but here's what I have in my collection so these are the ones I had to own. All of these would be recommended viewing for those interested in the genre

50's Sci-fi and Monster movies with Sci-fi elements

50's Horror

50's Fantasy (sci-fi elements with the first two)

There's also several classic early/mid 60's Sci-fi to consider for someone interested in that era.

Enjoy
