Michael,
You asked for a review of the Mirage Omnisat speakers, but they were already reviewed. I have been using the Omnisats in my personal system for over a month now and am very happy with them. I just received the new Mirage Omnisat Micro speakers for review. Look for the article soon.

How about some plasma displays? Particularly the hotly debated ones on Internet forums; Panasonic 42Pd3, Pioneer pro800 same as 433CMX, Fujitsu P42VHA20US and the hot new comer 46" BenQ PDP46W1?
Plasmas are going to be signficantly featured in the magazine and also in HDTV ETC. Upcoming reviews include Marantz and Fujitsu 50" plasmas.

Denon DVD-2900 Universal Player is in for review.

Now, that's a review I really want to read. If the review is really good, it is going to stir up my itch again.

Manoj, did you ever receive the Philips DVD963SA? I've been looking for a review of it.

I'd love to see a review of the KEF XQ series of speakers. As they are relatively new, I haven't been able to find either magazine or customer reviews. I have listened to them and found their sound to be excellent but I'd love to see the opinions of the pros.
Rich,
I'm actually doing a follow up to the Reference series speaker review I did previously. I too have heard the XQ series and think it is definitely worthy of your consideration. Although we may well review them in the future, I think that you should listen to them for yourself and see if they are for you.

Hey guys, just picked up my first issue of DVD ETC and I love it. I am looking at buying a new DVD player. I would love to see these reviewed or your opinions of them if you have already. Cambridge Audio DVD300, NAD T532/562. Thanks for any help. Keep up the great work. Mike

Manoj,

Thank you for your response. I'm also considering the KEF 201, 203, 205 and 202c speakers in addition to the XQ series so I look forward to your upcoming review.

I have listened to both the XQ and Reference series and found both to have a wonderful sound. Unfortunately, I haven't found anyone in my area that currently carries both product lines for a direct A/B comparison. I'm sure I can't go wrong either way, however I would love the side by side comparision given the substantial price difference between each product line. Right now I'm especially considering the tradeoff between a similarly priced set of XQ-5 floor standing speakers versus the Reference 201 bookshelf speakers. My wife and I are torn as to which way to go.

I live in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and so far haven't been able to find a copy of your magazine on the newstands. I've also tried the local public library reference department which stated that there is only 1 library in the country (in Arizona) that is currently subscribing to your magazine. Therefore I'm looking forward to your offering of electronic copies (PDF) of DVD ETC beginning next month.

By the way, do you know what month you intend to publish the followup review of the KEFs?

Thanks,

Rich

It should be coming out in the July issue, I believe. I am surprised you haven't been able to find it, they seem to be at every Borders/Barnes and Noble that I have been to.
That is a tough decision between the XQ floorstander and the 201s. Which subwoofer are you planning on if you buy the 201s, and which center and rear speakers would you get?
Manoj,

I will check Barnes and Noble and Borders as I haven’t made the trip to either yet. I’ve mainly looked in the large magazine racks at grocery stores, convenience stores and supermarkets.

Thanks for the response. I look forward to your feedback on the speaker thread!

Hi,

I sent this directly to DVD, Etc. already. I am a new subscriber and there are so many choices, I can't figure out what I should get as I upgrade my system.

How about a recommendation on complete systems based on budgets:

$5000
$10,000
$15,000
$20,000
etc.

Also, how about a review of the onkyo amp that onkyo says they will provide free upgrades on the surround sound such as when a new thx format comes out, etc.

Thanks.

Manoj,

I finally found a copy of the March 2003 issue in which you reviewed the KEF Reference series 205/201/202c. Nice review! Most importantly, your description of the sound compares with what I heard.

I look forward to finding your July issues on the newsstands for your follow-up article.

Noticed that, from your beginnings, your publication has devoted space to the cable end of home theater, in the last few issues starting to offer more energies toward actually reviewing them. A lot are interested in the cable offerings of companies such as Signal, Catcable, Rhino, and Bluejean. If any of these manufacturers were to offer samples for testing, would you be willing to offer your opinions regarding the quality of their products.

Thanks

Hey,

Is there a reason the same Panasonic dvd player was reviewed in this past issue? It appears the article is the exact same one that came out earlier this year, the only difference was the color of the Panasonic player. Just checking in case I'm missing something.

Hi,
Suggestion for not so much a review, as a topic for an article or series of articles.

I've never seen an article on "Futureproofing Your System" which brings together developments here and on the horizon (BlueRay, copy protection interfaces, digital links for hi-rez SACD and DVD-Audio, etc). What are the important issues we need to keep in mind as we consider new purchases? What's the best strategy for keeping our equipment up-to-date with the latest (Universal players? separate audio/video sources? Video switching at the TV or the receiver? etc).

Obviously, you would not be able to cover everything in depth, but such an article would be invaluable to the average reader who faces a bewildering future landscape.

Maybe you could have an introductory articale outlineing the issues, followed by more in-depth articles on the major ones.

Tall order, I know! But thanks for your consideration,
Bob

First off, I want to say that your publication is great. I particularly benefited from the Parasound Halo review, and am now a proud owner. I noticed energy speakers is a sponsor of your magazine. Have you already done, or am planning on doing a review of the new "i" series Veritas line? I planning on purchasing the 2.4's with the matching rears and center in a 7.1 setup. These speakers are absolutely astounding in sound and build quality and they have not received enough attention in my opinion. Just curious if a comprehensive review is planned in the future?

I'd like to see the 2 new hottest DVD players go head to head. The Denon 5900 and the Pioneer Elite 59Ai.

:tu: Hey guys, I just wanted to drop in a note to let you know that I have been watching ths thread closely and taking the suggestions. We have many of the products that you have requested in the works as well as some of the features.

We just relocated to Whitefish, Montana and I've been busy getting settled in. I actually have two pallets of gear in my garage waiting to be installed--pretty cool sight I must admit!

Keep the suggestions coming please! I'm always reading.

Toshiba SD4900 dvd player. There's barely any info on this player out there. Haven't been able to find a good review, only a few conflicting opinions from unknown sources.
