The back of the box for ATV Offroad Fury just lists the game as having "Dolby Surround".

Xbox

APEX

480p- Yes
16x9- No
DD5.1- Yes
Soundtrack- Yes
Online- No

The back of the case has the "HDTV 480p" box checked, but does not support 16x9, so much for my theory of games with the "HDTV 480p" box checked being 16x9 and 480p

{RANT}
Hey, Microsoft, 480p IS NOT HDTV and if you think it is, then the Dreamcast was the first console to display games in HDTV, not the Xbox.

Oh yeah, and that really sucks about Apex and the HDTV 480p listing. Sure it was incorrect, but at least it was consistent.

Yep, both.

Nope on both counts for Xenosaga, though.

Hey Dave, EdR reported in this post that Colin McRea 3 does not run in progressive scan. I don't know about 16x9 support (or progressive for that matter) as I don't own CM3, yet. Just a heads up and as always, thanks for keeping the list going

It definitely ran in 480p on my system. Actually, it looked almost exactly the same as Rallisport.

Time to eat some crow...

Although I said "definitely", I was wrong. Curiousity got the better of me so I ran to the video store & picked it up again. No 480p. Interlaced only. D'oh!

Sorry about the mixup, folks.

All-Star Baseball 2004 XBox is not 16:9 capable, did appear to be Dolby 5.1 supported. Couldn't tell about 480P before I returned it.

Buying World Series Baseball 2K3 today, will report on that and will check out the MVP baseball box as well while I'm there and will at least report if it claims to be 16:9, etc.

Thanks for the update on ASB2004 (which I figured to be 4:3, like last year).

Still waiting for a report on High Heat 2004 (XBox version). According to the website, it's "HDTV/480p" ...which usually means 16:9. It shipped yesterday, in stores today...can't wait to hear the news.

WSB 2k3 (Sega) comes out next week, it's supposed to be 16:9/720p!
Frustration city, guys. ASB is NOT 16:9 capable. WSB, contrary to the checked 480P box on the package, is also NOT 16:9 capable. I bought both and both display vertically compressed on my widescreen.

MVP does not even have the HDTV box checked, so forget that one (another EA inconsistency). That leaves High Heat, the worst product graphically, which does have the HDTV box checked, but which I have not tried so I don't know if it is or not.

WSB looks to be a great game, but the compression will force me into another return.
Are you absolutely certain about WSB 2k3?

I've heard other reports (from HDTV owners) that it's 720p and 16:9.
Jon, when I have 720P activated on the XBox, I get nothing but lines and static. I was forced to turn off 720P in the XBox setup, so it leads me to believe either it's 480P only as the checkbox on the box back implies - OR my RCA set is not 720 supported (which is possible).

As far as the 16:9 issue, unless there's some menu option I missed, which I doubt, it's displaying vertically compressed which means it's NOT 16:9 capable.

Why anyone would make a game 480P capable but not widescreen supported escapes me.

Did you get the lines and static with both 480p and 720p selected in the dashboard?
They are reporting over at the AVS Forum that WSB2K3 is in 720p. If I can manage to get out to the store at some point, I'll pick it up and verify 720p.
Yeah, it's reported all over the place that WSB 2k3 is 720p and 16:9.

Michael - what tv do you have? It sounds like it may not support 720p.

I tried it with both and with just 720P, same result. It could be my RCA F38310 HDTV isn't 720 capable, I don't know.

In any event, the issue to me isn't whether it's 480P or 720P, it's that it isn't 16:9. I can't imagine it would not display in 16:9 when in 480P but would when in 720P. That makes no sense to me.
