How does Ghost Recon look on a 16:9 screen?

Does it stretch well?

Are there lots of static images that could cause problems?

How does the gameplay and fun factor compare to the PC version?

Thanks.
"Thanks Andrew I assumed that unfortunatly it's not 16:9 unless someone out there knows diffrent???"

NP, yea I forgot to say that, it does not support 16:9

BMX XXX (Xbox)

Custom Soundtrack: yes
DD5.1: yes
480p: yes
720p: no
1080i: no
16:9: yes*

*Menus and gameplay are 16:9; the movies are 4:3, stretched across the screen- you have to change your 16:9 television's picture format to seem them undistorted

Anyone know about Splinter Cell (XBox)? The demo didn't seem to be 16:9.
I called up microsoft tech support today and they told me that when a game has the little HDTV box on the bottom of the back of the game case along with the other peripherals that game supports, that it means that the game supports an hdtv resolution, as well as widescreen, as well as dolby digital. This really confused me because it says hdtv on the back of shenmue but its listed on this threads list as a non widescreen game. if you put shenmue on progressive scan can you enable widescreen? does anyone know if this is true because i really think that xbox tech support doesnt know what they are talking about. i swear i could be better at that job with my current knowledge!
Nope, Shenmue does not run in 16x9 even when progressive scan is enabled. You would think that people in charge of this stuff would have basic knowledge about high definition. Jeez, a person could educate themselves on it by taking 5 minutes to read a simple article on the technology. Do they have ANY training for people in these positions?

Metroid Prime:

16:9: No
480p: Yes

Anyone tried Splinter Cell for 480p yet? This is (yet) another with a box that does not have the check by the "HDTV 480p" box on back. I was so angered I almost didn't buy it, but then I realized that I'm not currently running on my progressive inputs right now anyway for Xbox Live! dashboard diddling, so I went ahead.

The in-game movies appear stretched to me, but I didn't get enough play time to tell if it was 16x9.

(And please don't make me go through the whole discussion about the inputs on my TV aqain... if you don't know what I'm talking about, and it doesn't apply to your particular model of HDTV, just leave it alone ).
So Brian, whats up with the inputs on your TV anyway?

PS. All joking aside Ill check 16:9 and 480 compatiblity as soon as I get home today.

Sorry for the possible off topic post but...

Matt, where did you acquire component cables for the Gamecube? Is Nintendo's website the only place to get them?

Thanks.

Any news on SegaSport's NHL 2k3 yet?

I'm anxious to know if the Xbox version (or PS2 version for that matter) will be supporting 16:9 like their other two pro sports titles (NBA/NFL 2k3) have this year.

Anyone with the PS2 version (which has been out a week) or the Xbox version (which shipped today) have an update for this game?
Okay, I'll answer my own question about NHL 2k3 on Xbox:

In the words of Blues announcer Ken Wilson:

"Oh BABY!"

Like NBA 2k3 and NFL 2k3 before it, NHL 2k3 supports 16:9 widescreen gameplay. I kinda had a hunch when I first started the game up, as all of the menus were in a 4:3-ish box with sidebars (more like 14:9 though). After the game loads up though, the gameplay is pure 16:9 enjoyment. The center circle was a perfectly round circle, and not oval at all.

It looks absolutely beautiful on a 65" HDTV!!!

Back to the game. See you boys online. (XBoxJon)

NHL 2k3 (XBox)

16:9 YES!
DD5.1: Of Course
480p: Yep
720p: Not sure since I don't have a 720p display
1080p: Haven't bothered to check it yet, it's so much fun to play!
I'm interested in the setup on the following games:

Kakuto Chojin - the back of the box proclaims HDTV so I'm hoping this means 16:9... if anyone's played this game let me know.

Steel Battalion - 16:9??
Glad to hear NHL2K3 is 16:9. I preordered it online so I probably won't get it till next week, can't wait thou.

XBox version:
Dragons Lair 3D
480P: Yes
720P: Yes
1080I: Oh Yes
DD5.1 Yes
16:9: Yes

Just curious...has anyone tried and compared 720p and 1080i on Dragon's Lair? Is there any significant difference? I figure if there is, this will be a deciding factor on which format developers will support more often. Hopefully, they will begin to support both like this game does. I was under the impression that games would support one or the other, but not both.

Update- I just rented Kakuto Chojin:
DD5.1 - Yes
480p - Yes
16:9 - No
Custom soundtracks - no

I personally like DOA3 much better (especially for the 16:9)
Hell yes. NHL2k3 and Dragons Lair are both mine now! Can you remove any static icons on 2k3? I have a feeling I'll be playing that game all the damn time once I get it.
The only static icon is the score/time in the top left corner. I believe I saw in the menu system that you could turn it off, but I'd have to double check to make sure.

it's really a shame splinter cell isn't 16:9.

i got it last night. while it's still a good looking game, the dramatic lighting effects and overall feel suffers a bit from the stretching.
