Testy Area 51 - Page 444

Steve and other droogs of Area 51 go here and download the .zip file to your PC. Put the two files hometheaterforum.src and hometheaterforum.gif in your Firefox > Search Plugins directory.

When you restart Firefox in the upper right hand search box scroll down and you will see a green house. With the green house in the window you will be able to put in a word to search on HTF and it will look it up here and work as if you were using the search on the forum.

I Firefox used completely had during a little while and of entrance like him. Tabulée of the option to the crosspiece is extremely useful, but I cannot seem to take with the extension of tabulatore the end to me to work correctly. They are not latta safe of I in Russian or another one in those tasks.

[yawns into frame] What is all that gibberish Mark? So, Saturday and another freebie dvd with the paper, Howard Hawks His Girl Friday, no extras just the film in glorious b/w. I've had it on vhs for 20 years. I've just checked and the retail copy has some decent extras inc commentary and featurettes, I'll probably pick that up later in the year. So many versions of His Girl Friday on region 1, prices ranging from £11 to 50p. 50p? [yawns out of frame]

"Monsters from the Id"

Is it just me, or does the Creature from the Id look like an unholy hybrid of the Beast from Disney's Beauty and the Beast movie, with the Tasmanian Devil?

Chris, you have gained 5 million cool points because you are an Opera user!

Seriously, Opera beats Firefox hands-down in every aspect.

Do you all remember playing a game when you were a child called "Telephone"? It's where all the kids are in a circle, and one starts by whispering a phrase to the kid on the left, and they then pass it on to the kid next to them, and so on and so forth, until the last kid repeats the phrase outloud as told to him - then the kid who started the chain of events says what the prase reaslly was. The longer the chain, the more the phrase changes through transaltion... it kind result in some pretty humorous "transalations". I played it in college as well, but with more "adult" themes... and alcohol.

Anyway, it dawned on me that you could play a similar game using the popular online translator, AltaVista's Babel Fish:

Original: I said fire, not eject!
Returns : I have said fires, for nonmodel on the other hand!

Russian: Я сказал пожар, для того чтобы не выкинуть!
(back to english)I said fire, in order not to throw out!
Dutch: Ik zei brand, om niet te uit te werpen!
(back to english)I said fire, to cast not at!
French: J'ai dit le feu, pour mouler pas à !
(back to english)I said fire, to mould not with!
German: Ich sagte Feuer, um nicht mit zu formen!
(back to english)I said fires, in order not to also form!
Greek: Είπα τις πυρκαγιές, για να μην διαμορφώσω επίσης!
(back to english)I said the fires, in order to I do not shape also!
Italian: Ho detto i fuochi, per io non modello inoltre!
(back to english)I have said fires, for not model moreover!
Spanish: ¡He dicho los fuegos, para no modelo por otra parte!
(back to english)I have said fires, for nonmodel on the other hand!

Nils, that's what I used for the incoherant post of mine above. Well, not exactly what I used. I used a different site that does it all automatically. All this talk about Russian reminded me of it.

And now, the above after being lost in translation:

Quote:
It is the Nile, of which the excess, of that one for the trees of the used trowel of the beginning incoherant mien. One disappears not exactly, this that I was used. I used a other place, of which it has automatically to everything. All it speaks me to this in emfatizou of the Russians.

Wastin time by talkin down
You can still trash and I'm in my prime
You feelin bad and I'm feelin fine

Teehee we're back to songs and movie posters!

Another long quiet night...
Another long quiet, lonely night spent at your side.
Not a lot left to say...
There's not a lot that I still could say to change your mind.

But with a little bit of money we could buy us a car.
With a little luck we could get away from where we are.
Let's get out of here.

We'll drive, one thousand miles an hour.
We'll fly by wheat fields and water towers.
We'll go. We'll go and we'll go and we'll go. Let's go.

Now the look in your eye...
You know, the look right before you cry... it's always here.
So in the day when you wake...
In the morning when you awake, let's disappear.

With a little bit of money we could buy us a car.
With a little luck we could get away from where we are.
Let's get out of here.

We'll drive, one thousand miles an hour.
We'll fly by wheat fields and water towers.
We'll go. We'll go and we'll go and we'll go. Let's go.

X-3 looks like a winner to me.

These things work pretty good. Even in my big ol' stinky flat. And what a catchy commercial too! They do go out fast though, I've noticed.

Just something I mustered up on my camera phone while Adriana and I were splitting a Sprite.

This article is classic!

Mouthy London parrot reveals girlfriend's affair

Not pining for the fjords, though. Reminds me of a similar story my mom told me recently: someone she knew from Israel was staying with some of his friends in America, and when he went to sleep on their couch, he heard them shouting and fighting really viciously in the other room (this was in Hebrew, they were all Israelis). Next morning, the host couple came out for breakfast smiling, like nothing had happened. Their guest was very confused, until he found out that he had been listening to their parrot doing a perfect re-creation of one of their fights from the previous week. And all in perfectly accented Hebrew, of course!

Hoho amazing how clever parrots are at mimicking human speech eh? I read that story in the paper this morning Haggai, not your one the one in your link, funny stuff.

Picked up the King Kong Production Diaries today, just £7.99, 2-discs region 2, no fancy box or postcards though. I wasn't really going to bother with it at all, but at that price I couldn't resist. Also picked up The Sting special edition R2, also £7.99, haven't seen that in years, looking forward to it.

I saw Doom at a special screening (free of charge) so I actually enjoyed it in a sick/twisted kind of way.

I watched some of the King Kong production diaries, interesting stuff, the Andy Serkis segment was funny, he plays Lumpy the ships filthy cook, and also plays Kong himself wearing a computer generated ape-suit, one way of putting it I suppose.
