MGM: Please release NORTHWEST FRONTIER (1959) on DVD

As you can see, this is currently part of your Vintage Classics line on VHS, which richly deserves a nice Region 1 DVD release as well.

An excellent, epic adventure/suspense flick, involving a dangerous train trip across Colonial-era India, shot in color & Cinemascope (2.35:1 ratio), and starring Kenneth More, Lauren Bacall, Herbert Lom & Wilfrid Hyde-White. It was so well done, that it convinced producer Carl Foreman to hire the film's director, J. Lee Thompson, to oversee the classic WWII action blockbuster THE GUNS OF NAVARONE (1961) for Columbia Pictures next.

I agree. This is a film I've enjoyed over the years. It also goes by the name "Flame Over India".

Just bumping this back up from forum obscurity.

Please seriously consider giving this a nice anamorphic OAR release soon, MGM. It's too good not to be on DVD!

Well, it's been over two years since I last bumped this thread up to the top. Since, after Sony's neglect, Fox now handles MGM Home Entertainment's DVD distribution in R1, I hope influential parties there might read this and give this fine adventure flick a chance on DVD. And hey, back in the day, Fox distributed NORTH WEST FRONTIER to American theaters, under its "FLAME OVER INDIA" title!

Howsabout some retroactive DVD serendipity, eh? Pretty please?
