How about this:

Why?
Why do you keep hounding me and harassing me and hounding me?
It's not like I don't have anything better to do, you know.
It's not like the Phantom Cruiser is going to wax itself.
It's not like last night's burrito stain will just up and remove itself from my cape.

A very very busy superhero! Who does...things!

Personally, I find "Ya Ya" to be an even better song -- you just can't beat that cheesy Casio-tone synth solo in the middle!

The whole album was great... I was commenting more that if it wasn't for the VW commerical, they wouldn't even qualify for a "whatever happened to..." special on VH1
Most of the time ...like Bargain by The Who.... they just annoy me and ruin the song

Visit http://music.adcritic.com/ . They list the music and artist used in many popular commercials.

Interesting site.

My personal favorite car ad remains the Nissan 300ZX ad featuring Barbie/GI Joe/Ken with Van Halen's cover of the Kinks' "You Really Got Me."

I think The Who song is "won't get fooled again." That's off the top of my head. I think Baba O' Reily was also used in another commercial.

there's another Mitsubishi commercial (SUV I think) that uses an old Marc Bolan/T Rex tune. i can't remember the name of it though, but as soon as I heard it I knew it sounded like T Rex. All I can remember is that it has "Boy" in the title.

I am looking for the music of that Acura commercial where the guy gets to his date in San Francisco in a record time from LA

"Roll Over Beethoven" for the Ford Explorer....well, maybe not.

What you need by Inxs was used for Chevy trucks for a while. I'm surprised nobody has mentioned "like a rock", the Bob Segar tune that Chevrolet has been using since 1991. Time for a new song chev!

Ugh!!! Every year that goes by I dislike one of

I don't believe I've seen the commercial, but I do recall that Bad Religion did a song that had that title. Or was it 21st Century Digital Boy? I think that was it.

I'll be updating the list soon. Thanks for all the input!

- That is T.Rex "20th Century Boy" for
Mitsubishi.

- Is the ACURA commercial with Sarah Vaughan?

- Also ... Here's one Edgar Winter "Frankenstein"
for Buick.
Mitsubishi made great use of "Ready to Go" by Republica a few years ago. Actually helped their record sales in the US, I hear.
I love that "20th Century Boy" -- I'm so caught up in the tune I always forget what car the ad is for! I actually didn't really get into that song until they used it in "Velvet Goldmine", a FABULOUS movie with a great soundtrack.
