If you ordered yours from Amazon you might not get it in time for the Holidays:

I literally ordered mine (5-disc SD briefcase) the day it was made available for preorder. Mine has shipped with a tracking number (which is actually in transit) but I know a lot of people on another forum are reporting that theirs haven't shipped.

Mine was ordered on July 27th, which I'm 99% sure was the first day.

Could it be that Amazon really only has the stock to fill the orders placed on the first day? That would be pretty mind-blowing if true.

Cant wait to get this. Funny thing is i paid for shipping on my order from Amazon, an order i placed 6 months ago. It isnt even getting ready to ship. Funny because i ordered 2 Blu-ray discs yesterday on the Amazon BOGO sale. They shipped the same day, and i didnt pay for shipping. The one i really want, and paid extra to get fast still sits!

Odd. I ordered my SD briefcase relatively recently (late November I think), the rest of the stuff shipped 8 Dec with BR held up -- I assumed till after official release date of 18 Dec -- but the BR case shipped on 11 Dec! Now somewhere over the Pacific winging its way to me, or maybe already here but stuck in Customs awaiting X-ray screening before final delivery.

My briefcase from Amazon says "shipping soon" and has a shipping estimate date of 12/18, allegedly to arrive 12/20. I didn't order mine until 11/21 because I wasn't sure what Warner would send me for review purposes - didn't see the need to order something I might get for free!

My BD briefcase is in "shipping soon" mode as well. I have not received an e-mail from amazon regarding a delay. I believe I have selected one day shipping so that would make it Wednesday. Sometimes Amazon ships things early (Monday afternoon) but this was not the case today.

Still waiting for my 5-disc Blu-ray edition to ship from Amazon. Still says Delivery Estimate: 12/20, and I chose 2-day shipping.... so it's supposed to ship today. (fingers crossed)

Man, I REALLY regret pre-ordering this. I think this'll be the last time I do it. Seriously, on a title like this, I NEED to have it the day it's released.

UPDATE: Screw it. I cancelled the Amazon order. My local Best Buy has it in stock, for the same price as Amazon's with two-day shipping, and I'll have it today.

My local BB had 3 copies of the 5 disc blu ray without the collectors case. I bought one. So get to BB if you want one. Looks like they did not get very many. They had about 6 of the 4 disc SD version and a couple of the 5 disc SD briefcase version.

I concur! I just returned from the local BB, where I purchased one of the two copies of the 5-disc SD briefcase edition they received. They had one copy of the 4-disc SD version and several copies of the 2-disc set. FWIW, no copies were out on the New Release rack. I found these back in the Science Fiction section. I did not check for the BD or HD-DVD editions, but I'd be surprised if they had many of those in stock, either.

According to the bottom of my case, it looks the print run for the SD briefcase edition is 103,000. Does anyone know many BD and HD-DVD versions are being issued?

I ordered the (standard-def DVD) briefcase on August 6, and it shipped yesterday, supposed to arrive tomorrow. I preordered it because I heard about it being a limited edition, and just didn't want to take a chance at not getting it. That said, I really wish I had it now! I'd totally stop at Best Buy or Newbury Comics on the way home and buy it tonight if I thought I could resell the Amazon order that's coming tomorrow... of course, that would be kinda crazy... but patience is not a virtue I'm feeling right now. (Anyone wanna buy an extra briefcase from me at cost that could be shipped out tomorrow??)

So I guess hooray that I did the preorder, but boo for tomorrow not seeming good enough... doh!

Haha... I know, I saw the Final Cut at a screening at the Coolidge in Boston before Thanksgiving. Nonetheless, I am dying to see those deleted scenes, the Dangerous Days documentary, the commentaries.... what can I say, patience isn't always one of my virtues!

I cancelled my Amazon pre-order when I ordered the BD 5-disc set direct from WB for $22.50 shipped.

According to the UPS website, it arrived at my house a couple of hours ago.

I didn't pick it up, but was checking availability. FWIW, both Wal*Marts near my house are NOT stocking it. However, HMV, Future Shop and Best buy had it in stock. As well, Best Buy had all three formats, and the HD DVD 5-disc set (sans tchotchkes) in stock.
