Re: The WWE™

I know Verizon had that option for their customers.

Did anyone in this board NOT sign up for the chance at the money?

I can't wait for Dibiase to debut!!!

Re: The WWE™

So, did anyone watch the draft, or more or less, did anyone give a damn about it.

That and they're doing another Vince is injured angle, supposidly to write off the million dollar mania.

Re: The WWE™

I figured it was going to be to cover and reverse Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
HHH going to Smackdown
I really don't see them going through with that.

Re: The WWE™

i thought it was interesting that vince called hhh "paul" when he was under the sign.

Re: The WWE™

maybe vince got a little hurt, its part of the story line, but you smack you head hard enough, come out of charater and one of the first people to show up is your son in law, you ask what happened because it didnt work that way at practice

also the draft of sending him to smackdown might come into play, with him not showing up soon, as he and steph are expecting their second kid, next month

Re: The WWE™

Real classy of WWE to do the angle at the end of Raw considering it was only 2 weeks ago that a worker at a TNA Pay-per-view died in that kind of an accident. Vince just has horrible luck on draft shows considering he died last year.

Also real nice of them to not give their most tenured announcer any kind of heads up that they'd be moving him off of Raw. Especially when he had made it known publicly that he didn't wish to be moved.

HHH going to Smackdown is probably going to stick. Smackdown is in need of some serious star power with the network switch coming up. Plus, these days, The Smackdown schedule is more advantageous for he and Stephanie with 1 (and soon to be 2) children they bring on the road.

Re: The WWE™

I could'nt believe the collision between Batista and Edge. That was sick.

I don't like these fake storylines where people's lives are on the line, it's just not what I'm into at the moment.

Rumor is that tomorrow afternoon there will be another supplemental draft. I'm guessing ECW will get a few people.

Since Kane is back on Raw, do you think he'll loose the ECW title at Champions? Hopefully the US title will stay on ECW and the new Divas title will be a respected addition to the Smackdown! brand. It could be interesting, since Smackdown! was originally thought up as being an all women's show.

Re: The WWE™

Night of Champions is in about an hour. It should be interesting to see which belts change hands.

I must say that the draft has made me more interested in WWE programming than I have been in ages.

If you're not ordering the show, you can follow our coverage here and as always, if you do order it, I hope you enjoy.

Re: The WWE™

None of the top 2 belts changed hands. So as of right now, Smackdown has both belts. I wonder how they'll resolve that.

Re: The WWE™

When CM Punk's music started playing last night and he walked out with the MITB case, I marked out like a 5 year old. Him winning the belt was the greatest (and most unexpected) moment in wrestling that I can remember in a LONG time. I just hope it "sticks" for a while...

Re: The WWE™

I've really stopped paying attention to WWE. If I ever watch it now, it's basically just on in the background while I do something else. Sometimes I read the spoilers to see if I should watch the show. It's good I read them for last night because I watched the show; at the same time, it sucked because I knew what was going to happen.

CM Punk winning the title was awesome. I really wish I hadn't known about it, though. I give him at most 2 months with the title.

Santino was great with Ray Mastrio.

Re: The WWE™

I think John Cena is dead.

My gosh, how lame was that ending? As if the kick to break up the pin resulting in a DQ wasn't lame enough, we have JBL killing Cena with a car.

Thank God TNA has kicked it up a notch as the WWE is getting worse and worse each week. I'm about ready to give up on the WWE completely.

Re: The WWE™

I'm not sure about TNA. The last two Impacts have showed signs of resorting back to how bad things used to be and I read the PPV didn't end that well.

Thi, please don't tell me that about TNA. I'm about two weeks behind, having been on vacation. The last two episodes are sitting on my DVR waiting to be viewed. I'm not going to be happy if they've started reverting back to their old ways.

Re: The WWE™

Does anyone get WWE 24/7?

I'm old school, so I watch the NWA, Prime Time Wrestling, and TNT.

Does anyone know what other programs were played in rotation when 24/7 first launched? Just want to find out what I missed. I'm still kicking myself that I missed the 1985 year of Prime Time Wrestling, as that got me into wrestling in the first place.

Re: The WWE™

Mike Adamle is the new GM of RAW?????? OH BROTHER!!!!! Have things really gotten that bad?

Re: The WWE™

Bryan, I have WWE 24-7 and it is the greatest channel in the history of Television. Ok, maybe not but I love watching the stuff on there.

I love NWA, WCCW, Primetime Wrestling, the old episodes of Nitro, some of the old Pay Per Views and the old WWF Houseshows that they show.

I even told a friend of mine once that if I went a month without watching any 24-7 that it would still be worth the $7.99 I spent on the service that month.

Re: The WWE™

I don't know who is ordering SummerSlam and who is not, though I think the Hell in the Cell should be great.

However, if you're not ordering it and want some play-by-play, I've got you covered.

If you do order, I hope you enjoy it. I don't say this often but when we were deciding who would cover what event this month for our site, I actually picked SummerSlam. I can't remember the last time I volunteered for a WWE show and wasn't just stuck with it.

WWE Unforgiven Live coverage

just in case you're interested but not actually watching all of those scramble matches.

Re: The WWE™

I know it's late, but here are my predictions:

World Title Scramble:
- CM Punk (c) vs. Batista vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Kane vs. JBL

Batista wins. I'd love for Kane to win though...

WWE Title Scramble:
- Triple H (c) vs. Jeff Hardy vs. MVP vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. The Brian Kendrick

Triple H retains... I'd be shocked if The Brian Kendrick wins (and happy!)

ECW Title Scramble:
- Mark Henry (c) vs. Matt Hardy vs. The Miz vs. Chavo Guerrero vs. Finlay

Matt Hardy wins the title!!!

Unsanctioned Match:
- Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho wins

World Tag Title:
- Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase Jr. (c’s) vs. Cryme Tyme

I want Priceless to win, but Cryme Tyme will take the gold... again.

WWE Divas Title:
- Michelle McCool (c) vs. Maryse

I could'nt care less, but Michelle "Mrs. Taker" McCool with win.

Re: The WWE™

So what's everyone's take on the recent talent releases (Chuck Palumbo, Elijah Burke, Kenny Dykstra, Lena Yada, Paul London)? FWIW--I'm surprised the Boogeyman is still around, given that the only real "supporter" he had in WWE is currently in TNA (Booker T)...and IMHO the only reason Eve Torres is still around is because she was the most-recent Diva Search winner. Guess WWE has to free up some money somewhere so that they can add (somewhat-rumored) Gail Kim and Christian (Cage--obviously he won't be using that surname if he indeed comes back to WWE) to the roster...LOL!

Personal commentary--not that I have anything against either one of them as performers and/or persons, but I find it a bit amusing that--given the number of mid/low-level WWE talent that have been hired and then let go over the years--Funaki and Victoria have managed to stay employed by WWE for as long as they have...especially seeing how their primary roles as performers are to job to pretty much everybody else on a consistent basis, and that neither of them are extremely more popular than most of the other mid/low-level talent who've made appearances in a WWE ring.

Re: The WWE™

Terrible way to ressurect this thread, but...

Former TNA and most notably WWE superstar Andrew "Test" Martin was found dead yesterday in his apartment. No real solid info has been released...

Gosh, this is sad.

Test?? Wow...may he rest in peace.

Bad news Jeff Hardy fans....

http://thepilot.com/stories/20090911/news/local/20090911jeffhardy.html

Professional wrestler Jeff Hardy is in the Moore County jail Friday after being arrested on charges of trafficking in controlled prescription pills and possession of anabolic steriods.

Hardy, 32, of 265 Boys Camp Road, Cameron, was arrested after a search of his residence yielded 262 Vicodin prescription pills, 180 Soma prescription pills, 555 milliliters of anabolic steroids, a residual amount of powder cocaine and items of drug paraphernalia, according to a press release.

A joint investigation conducted by officers with the Moore County Sheriff's Office narcotics and select enforcement units and the Fayetteville Police Department led to the arrest.

Vicodin and anabolic steriods are Schedule III substances, while Soma is a non-controlled prescription pill.

Hardy and his brother, Matt, wrestling as the Hardy Boyz, were six-time World Wrestling Entertainment World Tag Team Champion. Individually, Jeff Hardy held the WWE World Champion belt one time and the World Heavyweight Championship twice.

Hardy was charged with felony trafficking in opium, two counts of felony possession with intent to sell or deliver a Schedule III controlled substance, felony maintaining a dwelling to keep controlled substance, felony possession of cocaine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

His bail was set at $125,000.
