Re: The WWE™

Oh well. He screwed up big time. If what I had in mind was going to happen at WM, I can't say I'm that excited to see the PPV anymore.

Re: The WWE™

Would there be any chance of Hulk Hogan gatecrasing WM 24 ?

in particular during Flair's match ?

There is a billion percent chance of that not happening.

Re: The WWE™

Well, I guess Flair making Orton tap out will probably be his last win. Guess they wanted him to go out on top. Sad to see Flair call it a day, since I've been watching him wrestle since the early 80's here in Georgia.

Also, this message goes out to John Cena. Stone Cold called and he wants his jorts back.

Re: The WWE™

Flair is way too old now and should just retire. This retirement tour thing has been a good idea but it's time for it to end. I didn't get to see Flair in his early NWA/WCW days, but did he used to go all crazy on the mic? I think it's lame when he gets all psycho and does that knee drop onto a shirt.

Is the match with HBK no DQ? If not, then the best way for Flair to go out is to cheat and get disqualified.

Re: The WWE™

I'm a fan of WrestleMania but not necessarily this year's show if that makes sense.

However, if you're interested we have some WrestleMania content to catch you up on things you might have missed.

Re: The WWE™

The card for this year's WM doesn't excite me much either.

Flair gave a very nice speech last night. I liked how he wrote everything he wanted to say down. And the stuff about his family was very open and touching. I really hope they decide to have his match with HBK be the final one at WM. I can't see either title matches having the potential for ending WM with the same impact that Flair's farewell could have.

Re: The WWE™

I suggest buying the WM 24 DVD when it comes out in a few weeks to see Flair's uncut speech.

Re: The WWE™

I read his speech. Wow, there was a lot cut out. I read elsewhere that it was an hour long, dunno if true or not.

Can't wait to see the Flair-HBK match on DVD. Thanks for all the memories Flair!

Re: The WWE™

Yeah I am seriously considering just to get the DVD because of this match and his Hall of Fame Speech.

Re: The WWE™

huge Raw spoiler for tonight

Seriously, click that one at your own discression.

It is the type of thing you might not want spoiled more than usual.

Re: The WWE™

Not much of a spoiler for tonight's Raw.

WM was okay. I watched it mainly for Flair, and his last match didn't disappoint. The match itself wasn't anything special, a little slower than it needed to be, and the drama could've been better, but overall I was happy with it. Flair looked really good in the ring, it's just that once HBK hit the table with the moonsault, things really, really slowed down. Don't know if HBK was really hurt or not. We never got to see Flair do his famous flop. His ovation made me very happy and emotional. It was a really amazing sight to see 70,000 people give him that ovation of respect with many tears in people's eyes.

Re: The WWE™

I'm going to spoiler tag this one for those who may be on the West Coast.

Thi, you don't think that the Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
widely considered best incarnation of the 4 Horsemen reuniting for the first time in well over a decade plus is a major deal?

Even if it ended up being just for a few minutes, given that it hasn't happened on camera in ages qualifies as major to me.

Re: The WWE™

It's over on the west coast now.

Wow. That was really special. It might be the classiest thing WWF/WWE has ever done. Moments like that make me proud to be a wrestling fan. 15 years ago, you wouldn't have seen a farewell like that in wrestling. The past 3 nights could'nt have been a better farewell for Flair, except that it wasn't in NC. Really, they couldn't have devoted more time and praise to him as they did at the HOF, WM, and Raw. Sometimes you want moments like that to keep going but they end too soon, the amount of time for Flair was just perfect.

I'm surprised the McMahons didn't come out.

The 4 Horsemen wasn't that special to me because we've seen them in parts here and there. It's not like we haven't seen those guys on TV for years and they reunited.

Re: The WWE™

As a long time Flair fan, I have to say:
Best.Raw.Ever.

The only thing that could have made that any better would have been Steve Borden showing up, with or without the "Sting" name.
The McMahons not coming out and showing respect was kinda surprising, or were they in that crowd from the back and just keeping a low profile to keep the focus where it needed to be?

Re: The WWE™

I read Stephanie, Vince and Undertaker came out after the show went off air. Vince raised Flair's arm at each ringpost. I guess they wanted to save it for the DVD.

This would not surprise me if true.

To sell even more copies of this DVD, you must have some exclusives.

I read somewhere that a new Flair DVD is coming out on July 8.

Could this be true ?

Re: The WWE™

Saving it for the DVD isn't really why Vince, Stephanie and Undertaker came out after the cameras went off the air.

Yes, it could and probably will end up on a DVD at some point, the reason they came out after cameras went off the air was to not break character.

Undertaker is seriously protective of his gimmick which is one reason the guy doesn't do mainstream interviews...ever. Taker also never attends the hall-of-fame ceremony for the same reason.

Vince sort of feels the same way and that it wouldn't due for Mr. McMahon to pay respect on camera.

So whether you think it unnecessary or silly, the reason they didn't come out had more to do with protecting character than anything else.

Re: The WWE™

Former WCW wrestler Harrison Norris, who wrestled under the name Hardbody Harrison was sentenced to live in prison for forced labor and sex trafficking

Norris wasn't really a wrestler of note, though there is one thing he did that I'll always remember. When WCW used to do the Spring Break Nitro and they had the ring surrounded by a pool, Hardbody became the first wrestler I can remember getting tossed in the pool and it was done by Kevin Sullivan.

I miss those old Spring Break Nitros.

I suppose that is one way of looking at this.

Never thought about that actually.

There's no doubt that's the reason, it isn't even opinion it has been known for years the length that Taker goes to protect his character and because of his tenure with the WWF/WWE, he has the right to do what he sees fit. Vince McMahon has no objections over it either because Taker is considered to be his greatest gimmick creation.

Plus, someone else made the point earlier today that it wouldn't make much sense for Vince to come out on camera since in the storyline he's the one that ordered Flair to retire upon losing.

BTW, yes the new Flair DVD does come out 07/08.

Re: The WWE™

Finally watched this yesterday. Being as I am a HUGE NWA and GCW mark from way back when, I actually teared up a bit. While everyone was watching Hogan and the WWF in the 80's, I spent my Saturdays watching Gordon Solie on Georgia Championship Wrestling and idolizing Flair and the Horsemen.

Flair will definitely go down as the greatest that ever laced up a pair of boots. Good to see everyone pay him the respect he so richly deserved.

Re: The WWE™

I missed most of 'mania (basically just saw the Taker vs. Edge match) and totally missed Raw the following night. I did catch the "Raw Rewind" that they showed on Smackdown and it looked like a very emotional Raw. I wish I could watch the whole thing just to see Flair's farewell ceremony.

BTW, one thing that really really surprised the hell out me...Orton was in the main event at Wrestlemania with HHH and John Cena...and he managed to keep the title! I guess the WWE is not that predictable after all.
