The WWE™ - Page 126

Re: The WWE™

Well, I could see Hardy winning the Money in the Bank match at Wrestlemania and using it right after the main event.

Re: The WWE™

I'd love to see that but it's very unlikely. I mean, that belt will probably go to either Triple H or Cena. Realistically speaking, I just don't see them losing the belt or Hardy winning the belt "Edge style". But I do think it's time to give Jeff the belt, even if for a little while. Otherwise, this monster push he's been getting would be for nothing.

Re: The WWE™

I could see Orton retaining the title, especially by cheating. Hardy could then use his title shot right then, and the crowd would totally be supportive of him. They could have a quick 5 minute match, and it wouldn't come across as a cheap win for Hardy. The more they delay giving him the title, the more this push is gonna be wasted.

I like the idea of that situation too. And Hardy is improving with his in-rings skills so there is potential to his title reign.

How sad was it to see Val Venis reduce to jobbing like that? I remember his gimmick back in the days of "Saving Ryan's Private"

Re: The WWE™

Who I want to win at Mania, HHH. I'd like to see him turn and have one last run w/ the title.
Who I think will win, Cena. Its so obvious Vince doesn't care about the crowd reaction and just wants to shove this guy down everybody's throat.
Who should win, Orton. It would legitimize him as a main event, heel champ and its always more interesting to see the heroes chasing after the belt than to have Cena boringly destroy everyone. You could have Orton being chased by Cena, HHH and Hardy leading all the way to Summerslam where Hardy would finally win the belt.

Re: The WWE™

I think HHH will win. He's been saying for awhile now that he wants to turn heel again. And what bigger stage than Wrestlemania. That will setup a Jeff Hardy vs HHH match a bit better as it's always seems to work better with heel vs face matchups.

MyNetworkTV? Never heard of it.

Re: The WWE™

For me, it's on the channel that was formerly UPN.

MNT was the home for IFL Battleground which you may recall being discussed in the UFC thread.

MNT was formed after the merger of WB and UPN, so a lot of MNT affiliates are the stations that didn't become CW affiliates. For example, in my market the former WB station became the CW and the former UPN station became MNT. MNT also picked up a few other affiliates and such that had been neither WB or UPN stations.

MNT is mostly owned by Fox.

We really don't need to go in to too much more detail on the network as it really isn't worth it. Needless to say, Smackdown will be the highest profile program in the short history of the Network.

Re: The WWE™

I have Dish Network. I'll check the programming guide tonight to see what channel number that is.

When will Smackdown start airing on this new network?

IIRC, the last episode on the CW is Sept. 12 and thus the first on MNT would be Sept. 19.

Re: The WWE™

Is WWE really spending $20 mil on Mayweather? That money could go to something much better like getting Austin and Hogan to wrestle each other. If he is getting paid that much, we better see some 619's and 480's since Mysterio is training him.

Re: The WWE™

What?? Really? Wow, that's a lot of money for a temporary gig.

BTW, did he really break Big Show's nose? It's hard to believe these things sometimes with wrestling being fake and all (yeah, I said it! )

I doubt that's the real number, but that's the number that is thrown out. No amount of money will get Austin and Hogan to wrestle one another. That match will never happen not because of money but because neither wants to lose to the other under any situation, they have bad feelings going back to WCW.

Andres, he most certainly did break Big Show's nose.

The demandments of Hulkamania, training, saying your prayers, taking your vitamins...well, they may have a new one.

Seeing that the original source is the enquirer, a grain of salt or 10 is required but still...

You guys need to go to wwe.com and click on the newly launched industry news section. This is the damnedest thing I've ever seen.

Re: The WWE™

Just that some of the fan websites like wrestlezone.com have found a new home.

Re: The WWE™

I never thought I'd ever see the day where I could find news about Chikara King of Trios 2008 and TNA Lockdown on WWE.com. It is kind of cool but still totally out of character for WWE.

Re: The WWE™

Casey

I am not so sure about that.

Vince McMahon has always outsmarted his competitors ever since Bob Backlund threw in the towel against the Iron Sheik.

Re: The WWE™

Oscar, you would've never seen that kind of thing in the height of the Monday Night War. Vince doesn't typically acknowlege the existance of other wrestling companies and has had no inclination to ever promote one (save for ECW when he could get something in return).

Re: The WWE™

It was worse before the Monday Night War. I hated how WWF wouldn't acknowledge where someone came from before or if they were already in WWF before. I think Ric Flair was the only one who they somewhat acknowledge came from another promotion.

Ugh, the Mayweather and Big Show segment last night was horrible. Mayweather just plain sucks talking and his facial expressions are terrible.

Re: The WWE™

Some people just never learn. Guess that push to the top is over. Reminds me of the situation w/ RVD, just as he had finally reached the top.
