It's now being reported that a drunk Goldust was singing love songs on the microphone system to Terri. LOL. That was a wild flight!

My thoughts on Raw (5/13/02)

I see Booker T's loss as probably a chance to turn him face. I can definitely dig that.

Also the scene is set for Brock to probably turn as well. Soon, if not at the PPV, Brock Lesner will probably defy Hayman's commands. Plant them seeds now for an explosive climax.

I noticed two slip-ups with the calling of the old WWF instead of mentioning WWE, and one of them came from JR himself.

The steal of the night has to come from Tommy Dreamer. That toilet water must've been a special effect.

Hogan's reception at Smackdown was the best that I have ever seen in wrestling. Simply incredible!

Whether you love him or hate him, you have to admit that Hogan's return to WWF/WWE has given us some of the most memorable moments in wrestling history.

Just thought I'd pass along this sad news, The British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith has passed away. He died of a heart attack while on vacation. He was just 39 yrs. old.
That is sad. The British Bulldogs were one of my favorite tag teams.

Oy.

I've really started tuning out as of late. The last few months have been nothing but a farewell tour for Hogan, who really is way past his prime. The Undertaker needs to go ahead and get ready to go too. He's just lame. Get rid of Golddust too, it's sad to see Rhodes embarrassing himself that way.

The whole RAW vs Smackdown angle has been wasted with Flair going heel again, in such a poorly written way. By the way, who are these writers/scripters? Do they smoke pot all day long?

The entertaining moments are few and far between these days. Get some fresh ideas up in the joint or perish.

Boy, didn't see the fake retirement coming

I think it's pretty indicative of the WWE and where it is going that it seems like nobody has anything to really say about it here, other than rumors, speculation, and reasons we think it's going down the drain. Maybe it's my taste, but I have been so uninterested in it lately, and not I just find out what happens on the internet before it airs on TV to find out if there's anything worth catching.

I guess anything like this has peaks and valleys. It's a shame with what seems to be a decent talent roster, the WWE is entering a valley.

tell me this isn't the end for Austin..

Source: WWE.com
-- WWE.com has posted a press release about the Austin situation.:

Stone Cold Steve Austin walks

On March 18, 2002, the day after WrestleMania, without company approval and without notice, Stone Cold Steve Austin walked off the job and failed to appear at WWE’s Raw show in Montreal. Stone Cold Steve Austin was advised by WWE management that this was unprofessional and unacceptable. After a two week hiatus, Austin returned to work.

On Monday, June 10, 2002, Stone Cold Steve Austin again failed to appear for the scheduled Raw event in Atlanta, instead choosing to return home to San Antonio without notice and without company approval.

Although Steve was unhappy with his character’s creative direction, Steve made the personal and unprofessional decision not to report to work to address his concerns.

Therefore, Stone Cold Steve Austin is no longer an active member of WWE’s talent roster.

Quote:
-- Many people may feel that this is the beginning of the end for Austin in the WWE (if it is indeed a complete shoot, not a work). Eddie Guerrero was removed from the Active Roster before he was fired, but on the other hand, people such as The Rock and Rhyno are currently class as not "active".
well it looks to me like this may be for real.. i hope not though.. he's always been my favorite wrestler and i've said it before he is the only reason i still watch WWE.
Yeah I saw this too. Supposedly they're going to address it on the "Confidential" show Saturday night (Check your local listings )

If you missed the Tough Enough reunion show...you missed a treat. Brutal honesty. It was hilarious!!! Tazz going off on Darryl, I only wish they wouldn't have bleeped what he was saying, because I really want to know what he was calling him. Other highlights: Victoria went off on Darryl; and Ivory told him they saved him alot of embarrassment by cutting him early on. Pete (?) told Jackie to get off of her pedestal because she wasn't "all that" when the subject of the hot-tubbing came up. And Hawk said he read for a part in X-Men II, can't remember what role though. I didn't even watch Tough Enough II and I loved this reunion show.

I'm not yet convinced that this isn't part of an angle. Gene Okerlund was asked if this was for real or not, and all he'd say was that they'd never work this as a storyline. When asked to clarify what he meant, he simply repeated himself and didn't give a really clear answer. I'll definetly try to catch Confidential, if not for Austin, then at least for the interview with Bobby Heenan.

I enjoyed the Tough Enough reunion. I would have liked to have heard a little more on everyone's current status with the WWE. I knew previously that Josh & Chris from TE1 had developmental contracts, and that Kenny from TE2 is on a waiting list, and will most likely be signed soon. From the show last night, they revealed that Matt(?) from TE2 now has a contract, as does the big blonde from TE1 (forgot her name). Also, Jessie from TE2 now works for the WWE from a production standpoint. I wanted to hear if Jake from TE2 had been signed yet, but nothing was mentioned. I'm not concerned about many of the others. The role Hawk read for is Colussus--news I thought was cool if for no other reason than the possibility that Colussus will be in X-Men 2. And while I'm not the best lip reader in the world, it looked like Tazz kept calling Darryl a "puppy." I'm pretty sure that's right, although why would they bleep out "puppy"?

In other news, I've read that Mike Awesome made his return to the ring Wednesday night here in Dayton, and was reported to really look impressive. I really need to try to catch some of the local HWA shows. The Island Boys, who I'm hoping are called up soon now that Ekmo's leg has healed, are my favorite developmental wrestlers, and the ones I think could make the biggest impact on the WWE. Iknow they were about to be brought up when Ekmo broke his leg. Haku was also there, along with Chris "Harvard" Nowinski. The shows are cheap ($12 total would get me and my son in), and are held about 5 minutes from my house, so I really have no other excuse than forgetfulness. I've also heard that Kanyon should be returning any time now, and that DDP has decided to no longer wrestle.
Scott, I believe you have the wrong species of animal there in regards to what Taz was calling Darryl. Think kitty

I have not been following all that closely, but did I hear that Eddy Guerrero was fired? Why was this?
Eddy hasn't been fired. Steve Austin on the other hand however has apparently left the WWE.
Max, yeah that's what I was thinking. Puppies have a different reference in the WWE. It's good to see other Tough Enough contestants still pursuing wrestling careers, even if they don't make it to the big time. It's a shame Austin has chosen to act the way he has. Jim Ross addresses it in his weekly "Ross Report" on the WWE website. Certainly not the way to do business, in any sort of business.

He'll come crawling back. Either that or he's been saving his pennies, and it won't matter if he doesn't work again
post #227 of 3869
I guess I still don't get it. Was Tazz calling him a "posey"?

A couple wrestling sites pointed out that Eddie Guerrero was first taken off the active roster and then fired, apparently in an attempt to say that this is definitely the first step in the firing of Austin. As a testament to the brainlessness of the people who run these sites (I know, what's that say about me for reading them?), I must point out that Eddie was taken off the active roster due to an injury. He remained inactive due to his addiction to pain killers. It wasn't until he got his DUI that he was fired. So if it's next reported that Austin is injured, taking pain killers, and driving drunk, then I might start believing that he probably won't return. Until then, I still think this is all an angle.
They don't do press releases for angles. Was that an official press release?
Getting more bizarre by the minute (and maybe even scary now)

Debra [Steve Austin's wife] called the police last night at 4am, claiming she had been attacked. Steve was gone by the time the police arrived at their home, and they saw Debra had a welt under her left eye and bruises on her shoulders and back. She was hesitant to contact the police because of Steve’s celebrity status, but things like this have happened to her before. KMOL News (NBC affiliate) reported this earlier tonight in San Antonio, Texas.

Stone Cold Steve Austin Allegedly Attacked Wife

World Wrestling Entertainment speaks out on wrestler, Stone Cold Steve Austin's alleged attack on his wife.

News 4 broke this story this weekend, professional wrestler, Steve Williams allegedly hit his wife Debora in the face and back at their San Antonio home on the far Northwest Side. Mrs. Williams told police this isn't the first time it has happened and that she was scared to call the police.

Sunday, World Wrestling Entertainment had a response. They told News 4 that this isn't the first bizarre behavior by Stone Cold. They say it started last week when he walked out of an event.

This is the statement by Senior Vice President of Talent Relations, Jim Ross.
"He took himself out of the game. Vince McMahon didn't, J.R. didn't. Steve Williams took Stone Cold and flew him to San Antonio."

President of WWE, Vince McMahon says,
"This is not a publicity stunt. This is something that unfortunately is sad."

Enough on Austin, did you guys catch the Showstoppa's speech on Monday Night followed by the Sweet Chin Music to Booker T? As much as the superkick is used today, nobody does it better than Michaels.

The one thing that bums me out about Austin was that I was hoping for one more great feud between him and Michaels. A good 4-6 month feud would have been great.

After watching the 6/16 Raw, it seems like they're almost sticking it to Austin. After a fairly sentimental bit by Vince (can we all stop doing the "What?" chant now?) the had Eddy Guerrero tease us with Austin's glass shattering intro, only to say that it will never be heard again, then we saw the Rock come out to a huge ovation, basically saying that if Austin doesn't want to be the man in the WWE, the Rock gladly will. I've also seem reports stating that the Undertaker and Triple H have stepped forward expressing wishes to step up their game in Austin's absence. With Benoit coming back, Shawn Michaels' return, and odd twists like Harvard Chris' debut, the WWE might be thinking they can quickly move past Austin's departure. Seemed like that was the message they were trying to convey on Raw anyway.

Well the HHH injury appears to only be bone spurs in his elbow. He says at www.wwe.com that he will not miss any TV other than Smackdown this week, and intends to be at Vengeance in 4 weeks.

Russo has also been bumped from lead writer to consultant, so that should be alright.
for those not in the know, Vince Russo is responsible for most of the golden "WWF Attitude" era. Unfortunately, he ran out of ideas, and it was bad news. WCW hired him away, where standards and practices totally crippled his already crippled idea roster and basically made the whole thing suck more

hopefully a few years off writing GLOW in Australia has rejuvenated him and gotten some of the ludicrous girl stories out of his system

well if any of you tuned in for last night's Raw.. looks like you saw Nash injure himself after being out for three months. here's a quote i pulled from the net on this..

-- As was previously reported on the injury of Kevin Nash, he will be flying to Birmingham, Alabama to meet with Dr. James Andrews. Nash will then proceed to have an MRI on his injured quadriceps muscle, which will conclude quite how bad his injury is.

However, what has not been said is that the area that Nash injured is the same area which HHH injured, causing his 9 month layoff.

-- The injury itself occurred when Nash hit the Big Boot on Booker T. He then went after Bubba Ray Dudley, but tripped over Booker’s body, still down from the Big Boot.

-- Reader Matt1681 sent in the following confirmation:

"I don't know if you noticed it or not on RAW, but as soon as Nash went down Earl Hebner asked him if he was hurt -- Nash replied yes and Hebner made the X signal that he was indeed injured. If you turn the audio up far enough, you should be able to hear it."

as i watched this last night i was in disbelief.. im thinking.. "there's no way he just hurt himself after being out 3months.." but looks like its damn true. this is really a shame bc Nash was someone i thought could help to bring WWE out of the ratings slum.. doesn't look like thats gonna happen. they are also saying the head writer is to blame.. here's another quote for you..

It has also been recently revealed that Kevin Nash didn't even know he was going to wrestle on RAW until he got to the building early Monday. As mentioned in the Ross Report, Nash was scheduled to work House Shows this weekend but that all changed when he arrived at RAW and found out he was booked. Many people have already begun to point the finger at Brian Gerwertz, the current head writer for RAW, for this screw up. Many people feel that Gerwertz is not living up to his responsibility to communicate with talent and tell them their role for the show is. If you also consider the fact that Steve Austin went home due to Gerwertz's lack of communication of his planned lose against Brock Lesnar as well as the recent situation with Kevin Nash, many feel he is in over his head being in charge of RAW.

this guy appears to be costing the WWE ALOT of money..
