I loved when Hogan went old-style on The Rock (hulking up) complete with the big boot and leg drop...that was great!
The "Hulking Up" got me so excited that I stood up and spilled my drink all over my girlfriend's head.
haha stephen!

Man, I love Hogan so much. The ol' boot drop and big boots had me dying!

For God's sake why (why?) is X-Pac back? He is one of my mosted hated wrestlers (and not in the good way).

I am looking forward to the draft on Monday, though...

I to was also thinking uhhh about X-pac. I don't hate or like the guy but just wasn't really all that excited to see him come back. At least the draft is gonna be sweet.
The only reason X-Pac is around is because he's buddies with Hall and Nash.

Any ideas of anyone else who may/could join the NWO? How about the return of Savage?

I'd like to see Triple H join up with the nWo. He's the heel ya love to hate! As soon as the whole Jericho/Steph thing is finally over, it'd be nice to see Triple H heading up the nWo, and wreaking havoc like the old DX days.

No one wants Savage wrestling any more. He's hurting people protecting his knees.

I'd say Shawn Michaels is a likely canidate.

Any random guesses as to who is going where after the draft tonight? I would think that Rock/Hogan may stay on the same night (but, possibly not) and that it would be almost a lock to have Rock/Austin on different nights. I guess we'll see in a few hours...

As it stood late last week, the projected lineups were:

Flair's RAW group will include the following talent:

-Steve Austin
-Chris Jericho
-Kevin Nash
-Scott Hall
-Kane
-Rob Van Dam
-The Hardy Boyz
-Lita
-The Big Show
-X-Pac
-William Regal
-Billy & Chuck
-Bradshaw

That leaves the following names as the top stars for Vince McMahon's Smackdown group:

-Hulk Hogan
-The Rock
-Kurt Angle
-The Undertaker
-Edge
-Booker T.

HHH and Jazz would be able to jump between shows at will because of their Titles.

Many WWF star swho have been off TV for for a while are expected to return tonight on RAW and be drafted to either the RAW or Smackdown rosters. Some expected to return tonight include Billy Kidman, Tommy Dreamer, Justin Credible, D-Lo Brown, Raven, Mark Henry, Shawn Stasiak, and Hugh Morrus among others. (411wrestling.com)

And as its stands right now, with two and a half hours before the show, Austin is still not there. He is apparently REALLY unhappy with the WWF's direction and sat out both shows last week. Not a good sign. If Austin doesn't show, this could make a major problem for their plans as it stands now.

Whatever happens, tonight will be interesting.

Well, I have tickets to RAW in two weeks here in Phoenix. I was really excited to go, but now...well, unless they change things with "trades" or Steve Austin actually decides to come back and ends up on RAW, I don't know if I'm going. I mean seriously, Undertaker, Hall, Nash, X-Pac, Kane, Rob Van Dam, Booker T, Big Show, Bubba Ray Dudley (the Dudley's will bomb horribly as singles), Brock Lesnar, William Regal and Lita as the top 10 picks. Well, there are TWO freakin' people in the list I give a damn about at this stage of their careers. And out of that list are 5 of the biggest wastes of space in the WWF (Undertaker, Hall, Nash, Kane and Big Show).
It certainly looks the way it stands as though Smackdown! will be the show to watch.
Edit: Oh goody, add four more wrestlers I don't give a damn about to RAW: Bradshaw, Steven Richards (!), Matt Hardy and Raven. Whoopdee-freaking-doo.
Smackdown! meanwhile gets Kidman, Tajiri, Jericho and Ivory. I love all of those but Ivory. Are they intentionally trying to bury RAW?

And of course the only show we get here in St. Louis is Raw

Well, the full results are in.

On Ric Flair's WWF Raw (in the order they were picked):

Undertaker
nWo
Kane
Rob Van Dam
Booker T
Big Show
Bubba Ray Dudley
Brock Lesnar
William Regal
Lita
Bradshaw
Steven Richards
Matt Hardy
Raven
Jeff Hardy
Mr. Perfect
Spike Dudley
D'Lo Brown
Shawn Stasiak
Terri
Jacqueline
Goldust
Trish Stratus
Justin Credible
Big Boss Man
Tommy Dreamer
Crash
Mighty Molly
And on Vince McMahon's WWF Smackdown (in the order they were picked):

The Rock
Kurt Angle
Chris Benoit
Hollywood Hulk Hogan
Billy & Chuck
Edge
Rikishi
D-Von Dudley
Mark Henry
Maven
Billy Kidman
Tajiri
Chris Jericho
Ivory
Albert
The Hurricane
Al Snow
Lance Storm
DDP
Torrie Wilson
Scottie 2 Hotty
Stacy Keibler
Christian
Test
Faarooq
Tazz
Hardcore Holly
The Big Valbowski
Perry Saturn
Well, what can I say? Smackdown looks mighty impressive, while Raw needs some work, but has vast possibilities if pulled off correctly. Splitting up the Dudleys and The APA is harsh, especially with the former. I guess pairing one member of each tag team in each 'brand' would be interesting. Although, D'Lo and Bubba would be interesting (although maybe too similar to Bubba and D'Von). I don't think there's any way the Dudleys can survive in singles careers.

It's nice to have the nWo out of Hogan and The Rock's hair for a while. It's time to develop other alliances/enemies for each. And it'll be nice to see some more classic Benoit/Jericho matches in the future (finally returning Y2J into the mid-class where he belongs and not in the heavyweight fray). There's a lot of potential with the Smackdown brand.

As far as Raw goes, Kane vs. nWo is already boring me (in fact, everything Kane ever does, aside from pairing with the Undertaker, bores me). It'll be nice to see Tommy Dreamer back in action, along with Justin Credible. And finally Raven's back! Taker as the headliner? I think not. The highlights of Raw's roster have to be RVD and the Hardy's (w/Lita). The Hardy's are just going to need some good teams to fight in the future (finally tossing aside the usual Edge/Christian,Dudleys,etc.). RVD could have some hellasweet matches with some of the other ECW transfers. Still, to make Mondays a must watch, Stone Cold is going to have to stick to Raw. Going on Smackdown would make one larger-than-life superstar too many.

It's looking like the next weeks/months are shaping up to be very exciting...

ok, this whole thing just doesnt seem feasible... what happens if/when a title holder loses their belt? where will they go? i just dont see this lasting very long... it seems they are limiting themselves by arranging the roster like this...
I didn't like the way the draft was handled. It came across looking like an angle when I thought it should be more serious and real. WWF had a rare opportunity to deliver a special show that is the start of a huge venture for them but they blew it.

WWF needs to do everything possible to differentiate the two programs, or else each show will just feature a scaled-down roster which will turn away viewers. Cruiserweights should all be on one show if they plan to follow through with the rumored cruiserweight division, there simply aren't enough on each roster. Likewise, I think they should have like the hardcore division on the other show. I hear that both shows will be written by the same people. They can't do a good job writing for one roster, what makes Vince McMahon think they can write for two sets of wrestlers?

I know it will take weeks to see how well the split works and for adjustments to be made. Right now, it looks like it will fail.

It was pretty cool to see Chris Benoit be a third pick, although the order of the picks were done for entertainment.

Excellent Raw tonight. Love the new look and theme. It's great to see Latino Heat back - he should have some good matches with RVD. Finally, the 'undisuted' title is unified into one belt - it's about damn time. Lots of energy from all involved and a great two and 1/6 hours overall.

mike.

And oh yeah, Stone Cold is officially on Raw
post #172 of 3869
I was dying when Stone Cold played that April Fool's joke on McMahon! And Big Boss Man!! what what! I love the WWF again.
I like the new Raw. Cool that Latino Heat's back. The Big Boss Man and Mr. Perfect were off their mark last night, though. Or maybe it was Matt and Jeff. Lots of little misses and such. Nothing major, I guess I've been watching wrestling for too long . And who's that monster that keeps beating everyone up with Paul Haymen??? Enough with the run-ins, give the man a match already! It's also cool that Molly lost that side-kick get-up. That got real stale real fast. Looks like she's about to get a push. Now all we have to do is wait `till Thursday and see what SmackDown will be like ...

I like the new look of Raw except for those things on the side of the Titantron. If they could give Raw a different tint than Smackdown, I think that could be very effective in making us think they are two different brands.

It was great to see Eddy back. He and RVD should put on some great matches. It's too bad most of the good opponents are on Smackdown.

How great was Undertaker's line, "Say what if you sleep with your sister"?

The new title looks great but it's too small.

I did noticed that there were more wrestling as in that the matches went longer, for example, the RVD - Booker T match. With the guidance from Paul Heyman and Rick Flair, it could be that we'd see more wrestling or longer matches. Remember Paul Heyman's scripted quibble to Vince that wrestling was a dirty word for him at the expense of sports entertainment?

Eddie Guerrero was scheduled for an Australian tour in April (this week) with the WWA. With his appearance on the new look Raw, chances are he'll be a no show.

Anyone know if the new Smackdown will be a live show or taped?

From the looks of the person who sent a spoiler review into slashwrestling.com, it looks like it is, at least for now...

I almost vomited when I read the spoiler report for Smackdown! Don't read the following if you don't want to know yet!

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Vince comes out and says that since he won the coin flip for first draft pick, he also gets to make the first title match. So, later in the show he says that Triple H will take on...Hollywood Hulk Hogan. Oh, no. Also, Hogan apparently comes out in the red and yellow. I don't mind Hogan having his little farewell tour, but a freakin' title shot? Hopefully this leads to Triple H turning heel and joining the nWo, who comes down to beat down Hogan at the PPV.
Great news, at least as far as I'm concerned! According to the Ross Report:

Shelton Benjamin, Rob Conway, Nick Dinsmore, Doug Basham, Jamie Knoble, Shannon Moore, Steve Bradley and the Island Boys will be seen on WWF TV shortly.

I've been waiting to see the Island Boys make it to WWF TV for some time now. They're a couple of massive Samoans (Kimo & Ekmo), who can move much better than most big men. They should help to liven up the comatose Tag Team division, which I believe is officially down to just two teams now.

As for the others, the only names I readily recognize are Jamie Knoble and Shannon Moore. While I despised them in WCW, they actually look much better now in the HWA. Add in the fact that they're just waiting for Rey Mysterio Jr. to return his written contract, and it seems liek the WWF is actually committing to the Cruiserweights.

Will we see Kane (WWF) unmasked?

Anyone caught RAW? X-pac stole Kane's mask and he's currently unmasked at this point but we don't get to see it. Earlier in the night, he said to Terri in an interview that he's not ashame to be a freak. Is this a setup for him to return unmasked or is he coming back with a different mask? What's the scoup on it?

I like to see him come back a bit different masked or unmasked. Though I like the Big Red Machine as he is, he's not gaining any popularity, maybe a change is in order. Afterall, he's talking a lot more now and even can immitate The Rock and Hogan.

" Oh NO! What's X-pac doing?.... He's taking Kane's mask off! OH THE FACE THE HIDEOUS FACE...hey,wait a sec...... IT'S ISAAC YANK'EM.I was wondering where the hell he went."
