i found that description on ebay forum but it sounds familiar to me but i don't remember.
and a game i played in the 70's had little mushroom shaped objects that had faces painted on the tops. you would push down and lock the spring loaded toy. it was on a lrage board and when it popped it would fly up and land. but i dopn't remember what the object of the game was.

I couldn't for the life of me remember the name, or how the game was played, but from the description I immediately remembered the little spring-loaded game pieces and their goofy faces. (Sorry, I got nuthin' on the freezer game - that one just sounds bizarre. 
)
