Man that PD-91 is awesome looking, you got an amazing deal for only $25.
yep, it's one of the cornerstones of my entire system. sounds FABULOUS.
one thing though; my original first copy i had paid $50shipped for, in non functional condition.
i fixed it by culling a replacement laser lens for it off a discman i had lying around.
it worked great for me, until i attempted a mod and effectively destroyed it.
a year later i came across a replacement copy, claimed to have been used VERY sparingly through the years
by it's one, original owner, for $600shipped.
i figured it was well worth the premium to get a player about as close to NOS as i felt likely to ever come,
so i bit.
not long after, i found a copy of the Japanese market version, the PD-3000, in cosmetically mint but non-operational order, for $200shipped.
i bought that, and used it's many higher quality parts-
(solid aluminum top plate, solid steel rear-mounted power transformer isolator foot, resin-filled main isolator feet, etc.)
-to soup up my existing U.S. PD-91. what you will see here is the result of an $900ish total investment;
