ARC does not work

TV is a Samsung LN46C750. Receiver is Yamaha RX-V667. Both are ARC audio return channel compatible. I have the HDMI cable running from port 2 on the TV as required by Samsung, but no sound on any speakers connected to receiver. The Samsung DVD player connected by HDMI to the receiver manages to get surround sound, so it has to be the ARC. I tried a different HDMI cable that support ARC just to make sure. But still no luck. Ideas? confused.gif

I am only guessing here, but do you need to "tell" the receiver where the sound is coming from?

That turned out to the case. Page 104 of the Yamaha manual. Need a PhD for these things.
